What would the Devils offer for both Evans and Anderson?
* Evans with an extension (5x $3.5M)
* Anderson with 50% retention (2 more years at $2.75M)
* Habs can take back a contract dump (Haula maybe?)

I think these are the exact type of pieces the Devils are after.

Not saying Utah does it, but Hayton would be a great fit. Defensively responsible, good on draws, can expect 40+ points. He's ideal as a high end 3c that can play top 6 when injuries call for it.

I don't even know what we'd want in return. Bill seems content with the roster given our rebuild stage and the teams placement in the standings. Content is not a good word because he's not satisfied, but he doesn't seem interested in shaking things up right now. We have high end prospects we're waiting on, no need to rush. Hopefully that makes sense.

If Nemec is the preferred trade chip, we could add a 2nd to Hayton for the feels, but I'm not particularly high on him. He's a good player, I think 2nd pairing long term. If you think he's a top pair guy, then he's probably not the right trade chip.

What would Devils fans want to give up for him?

Evans is worth more than a 3rd pick alone. Center than can play defensively with low salary are always overpaid on tdl , id expect a 2nd alone for h im
