typo on my end, correctedJust IMO, but a 2nd liner is better than a middle 6 player.

I agree but in two years $10M will be the new $7.5Mman if ehlers pulls 10mil, even though I love him here as a Jet I would wish him the best and congrats on the fat sack.
Regret on an 8.5 million cap hit when the cap will be 115+ plus?I'm thinking he gets $8.5 X 7 and a team will regret it in 4-5 years. jets probably 8 X $8
Almost everyone needs a top 6 winger and with the cap going up 10M, at least half the teams are going to be able to afford that if they choose. Brace yourself. What team needs a top 6 winger?
What team has at least 8 million in space?
I'd think he gets 8 x 8 in WPG
He gets 7 x 9 on a bubble team that needs an offensive punch to help push them into playoffs?
I don't see the 5 or 6 contending teams being able to fit him.
He’s one of the best 5v5 players on the planet and maybe the best zone-entry guy. $9M feels like the number but $10M is in play, so many teams have a lot of cap and need scoringWow , people throwing around 9-10M long term deals for a guy who's often injured and has a bad playoff record...
I like him, but he's not getting that. If he does, I hope it's not my team.
1-1As good as he is but this is giving me Brendan Gallagher vibes for some reason.....If i was going to throw money at a winger it would be Marner.
Carolina.
Carolina.
What team has been trying to solve top line LW for a couple of seasons via deadline deals?
Carolina.
The only debate I see for Carolina is if both Marner and Ehlers get to July 1, who do they think they should prioritize?
If you want to give us Tkachuck we can work out a deal.Just traade Peterka to Ottawa already.
If Marner makes it to July 1st then all it takes is a call to his agent to see where his head is at for landing spots. I assume he will re-sign with Toronto but if he doesn't then I don't he doesn't at least listen to offers elsewhere even if it's a place he didn't waive for previously.Considering Marner literally openly refused to go there I would say Ehlers?
If you are talking the Hertl contract you are looking at $9.7.The Hertl contract + 10 % inflation. So I think around 9m per. If a team can get him at 8.5 that would be good value.
9x8=72M if he stays, 10x7=70M if he goes. He’s one of the best 5v5 players on the planet and maybe the best zone-entry guy. $9M feels like the number but $10M is in play, so many teams have a lot of cap and need scoring
