I agree :( I'm very disappointed in CJ

Another bad move by Bergevin. He made moves that were suited for the early 2000's NHL. And when they didn't work out, to try to patch them up, he made more moves suited for the early 2000's NHL.

I will be honest and call myself out on this one however, he did the move I wanted at the time. I thought Julien would be a good fit.

But did he really have to give him 5 years? And he and Molson shouldn't have a policy to only hire candidates that speak french. The fans will get over it. Some will protest. But they'll get over it.

If he get's the go ahead (if he needs one) or otherwise just decides to go youth next year with guy's like Scherbak, Galchenyuk, Mete and our our draft pick than the results could be quite good I feel. He is a coach that can work with youth, he's a smart polite guy. I still think he can get the job done he just needs to decide his approach right now.

I think certain portions of the media would beat that drum relentlessly, and by hiring a non french coach, a manager is shortening his own leash already.

The fans are a byproduct of this. If they are constantly bomabarded about this via media, they will continue to remember it.

It's up to the owner to set a precedent to hire best hockey man. If he doesn't do it, it already sends the signal to the GM about his own field of play when it comes to hiring a coach.

Politics is probably the worst thing about being a habs fan.

Premierment et avant tout on veux gagne et amener la coupe a montreal!

Thats all he should have to say to shut up the nay sayers. If someone can't get behind or has a problem with that statement then they are not a real fan of the team.

traded cause Julien. If he gets put with guys that can put the puck in the net, he should do well. But since Julien had him with waivers Shaw, I'm not going to hold out much hope that he gets treated well.

Not like we had much choice. Our centers were Drouin, De la Rose, Shaw and Froese

Who is Scherbak going to play with? That is the question. Pretty sure Gallagher plays with Pleky. Then it comes down to where Armia plays. Do they put him with Drouin or do they put him with DLR? Shaw is hurt so Scherbak will be in the top 3 lines somewhere IMO.

I hope this doesn't happen...

Drouin and Gallagher had some success last year after being put together, much more success than Gallagher had playing with Plekanec...at this stage, playing Plekanec with anyone who is described as an offensive player, doesn't make much sense.

I could see Scherbak playing with Danaul or DLR this year.

Julien will rely on the Gallagher/Pleky combo IMO. They work well together. Might not be what you or I personally want but I see this as a possibility.

I think Scherbak playing with Danault or DLR is a real possibility as well. I hope Scherbak shows up to camp with a bit more muscle. He needs to stay healthy if he is going to reach his potential. Skill is definitely there.

Surely a team that's not going to make the playoffs can find better use of their 30 goal forward.

I can't wrap my head around a team that's going to be bad, using a 36yr old player playing on a 1yr deal, as their #1C. This simply cannot even be a consideration, on any level.

I also don't agree that they work well together as Plekanec is a much of a drag on his team and linemates offensively, as he is a boon defensively.

He doesn't appear to be much of a gym rat, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as that's not for everyone.

I just hope he actually gets an opportunity this year.

If you look at his past injuries, strength appears to be an issue. If he is going to play a 82 game schedule and gain development momentum, he needs to stay healthy. He has only one season where he has played almost a full season since turning Pro.. 3 seasons ago.

I also hope he gets the opportunity but I am skeptical with our management. They seem to think we have a legit shot at making the playoffs and they will run with mature players who are responsible. Hence, the reason why they brought back Pleky.

I am very interested to see how Drouin, Domi, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Hudon, Danault, DLR, Juulsen, Mete, Reilly play this year. We need them to keep growing.

Sherback would look so good with a goalscoring center... its a shame
.. we traded him to Arizona...

Scherback is a playmaker first and he likes to carry the puck, playing him with perimeter Dru is just going to mess him up.

Didn't Galchenyuk start playing better last year when he started playing with Scherbak? I made the same case for playing Drouin on Galchenyuk's wing. Now we have a bunch of play makers on the team with Sherbie, Domie, Drouin but no goal scorers.

It's a good point I have to say. I really did like the Scherbak and Galchenyuk combo. If Patch is back and we end up trading him at the deadline, maybe a Patch/Danault/Scherbak line would be a good one?
