Sounds like a fit I guess, they gotta fill the roster
Yeah that is a very young lineup. Good to have someone to plug and play, not like they need allstars at this point.Pretty much, just need a punching bag LHD in front of the kids in case they're not ready. Kings will be icing Doughty-Roy-Walker on the right and some combo of Bjornfot-Anderson-Clague-MacDermid on the left so they were after at least one established player there.
He's definitely not LA's type of player.
In my opinion, the NHL should allow you to dress one extra player per game and Nesterov would be a perfect extra skater for that purpose (since he can play wing) unless teams dressed a special teams specialist.
In what manner? What does he do/not do?
Genuinely curious, I don't remember him THAT well, but I remember him being pretty good at getting the offense going. Kings seem to be transforming their back end to guys who are excellent in transition and good skaters.
Yep, that's exactly it. He's mobile, good on transitions, offensively minded etc. Too good for the AHL, not as good as other NHL options. Defensively he wasn't gonna win you the Norris.
He doesn't play big, he'll use his stick instead of boxing you out and isn't especially known for his toughness. Pretty much he plays a Toronto or Tampa style, not a LA from 10 years ago style.
that does not sound like anything we need. We have a smaller mobile right side and Anderson and Bjornfot are smallish. The only real size we have is MacDermid. We need a big, physical dude back there, not someone you just described. I cannot for the life of me remember him.
Regardless of how he will play for LA, I've always loved this guy's name. Such a GREAT hockey name. That makes this signing worth it for me![]()
Hopefully he can put it together and bring even slightly more than Joakim Ryan, who made Randy Jones look like Nik Lidstrom.
I always cheered when Jones was stuck in the penalty box.Hopefully he can put it together and bring even slightly more than Joakim Ryan, who made Randy Jones look like Nik Lidstrom.
