Nikita Kucherov on 126 point pace and on his way to another Art Ross

It really isn’t. There is a solid conversation to be had for multiple people, no clear cut winner at this point
If he comes back tonight and is as good as before then I still think he wins and deserves so...but if he can't come back to his pre injury form there are lots of options from Kuch to Helle to Makar.

Hellebuyck, Makar, Kucherov, MacKinnon, Draisaitl. It’s still a race down to the finish with no clear cut winner currently

Yeah we will see...before injury it wasn't but now maybe you are right...could all change real quick when someone catches fire or gets cold.

Hart is Drai`s to lose still.

He lost the lead the moment he got injured. He needs a colossal game in his return tonight to reinsert himself in the discussion for the top spot. Something absurd like 3-4 goals and 5-6 points in a convincing Oilers win to even have a chance.

It’s a shame, but his exit was simply too ill-timed and almost certainly took him from a possible awards sweep to just the Rocket.

Yes that's unfortunately true...we will see if he comes back with 100%...if not it will be hard for him to sweep them all...but as stades of he wasn't injured he was the clear cut favorite.

He’s only missed 4 games, so if the conversation is he lost it due to that. Then it just shows how close the race is. He hasn’t missed significant time to say injuries lost him the trophy
The problem is voters seems to only look at the top point scorers without digging deep into it...he was 2 points back with a game in hand.
Now its hard to stay inside five points which could be to much for some voters... additional as a German he has not much lobby like Matthews when he had 60 goals while being not near the top in total points (in this year Drai had 55 goals, only 5 behind...Drai is still in the lead in goals with over 10 to second while playing less games than the field)

Kucherov up by a point, despite not taking the EN shot earlier on that almost cost Tampa the game

Yeah, I saw that and wondered WTF he was thinking. For a guy known for his hockey IQ, that was a pretty dumb play.

Maybe he's been reading HFBoards and knows this site hates EN points and thought an empty net assist would attract less attention than an empty net goal lol.

I had to do a double take at Tampa and didn't notice they were now first in the Atlantic as of today. Kuch with 4 points today, really pouring it on. I don't think he will win the Hart race, but I'd have no problem if he won, he is very desereving. He doesn't have a Makar or a McDavid, but he does have a pretty balanced team to work with. If he ends up winning the Art Ross, not sure if they will impact Hart voters or not.

Kucherov won the Art Ross last season and led the Lightning in scoring by 54 points.

Yet the voters didn't give him the Hart because it was MacKinnon's "turn."

This season Kucherov 100% deserves the Hart if he wins the Art Ross and the Lightning win the division. That will be three Art Ross wins against a prime McDavid and MacKinnon.

Hellebuyck has an argument as well but the voters won't give the Hart to a goaltender.

Kucherov is a long shot to even be a Hart finalist.
