Nikita Kucherov on 126 point pace and on his way to another Art Ross

the McDavid era? Does he have a cup?

Kucherov is at the moment the best offensive player in the NHL. He may skate slower but he is the better playmaker and shooter. He is now in his 30ies and no signs of slowing down. With McDavid we are not so sure, is it the beginning of a decline from a high level or will he rebound to 1.7-1.8ppg next year?
Lightning fan here...McDavid is generational...Kuch is making a case at being generational...he's close...underrated for sure...and I think his game will age well as it is not based in speed or power but guile.

Kucherov has generational hockey IQ and can be argued as a generational player, depending of your definition. He’s also one of the best half-board powerplay players of all time, if not the best.

Most seasons with 50+ primary assists, NHL history
  • 15x - Gretzky
  • 7x - Lemieux
  • 4x - McDavid, Oates, Savard
  • 3x - Coffey, Hawerchuk, Kucherov, Thornton
  • 2x - Clarke, Dionne, Esposito, Federko, Gilmour, Lafleur, Trottier, Yzerman
Kucherov recorded his 50th primary assist of the season just now. He's the only winger in NHL history with three seasons with 50+ primary assists.

I agree but I have Mario Lemieux first on the half board, and Kucherov second all time.

Kucherov is so smooth out there...incredible like Mario
