Lol... look at the post that was directly above mine that I quoted and you shall find your answers.
Even if there was logical fallacy in his argument, what does it have with your statement that you think Demidov will be just a decent 2nd liner? I agree that if one thing is true for one prospect, it should be true for the other (as in KHL caliber might not be what is was before) but saying that he will be a decent 2nd liner (for whatever that means) as no correlation with it.

It was just to make a point. I don't know anything about Demidov nor do I care to.

Idk both seem good. Voted Nikishin because he isn't a Habs prospect as the tie breaker.
Fair point...lol

I took Demidov as he is younger and I really like him for the Black Hawks at 2 in the 23 draft, very skilled player who will be in terms of impact what some Hab fans hoped CC would be.

Really pointless argument. There's been zero #1 German dmen before Seider, here we are. There's been zero top 6 Austrian centres before Kasper and Rossi, here we are. Kopitar from Slovenia.
Russians been playing hockey a lot longer…your comparing apples to blueberries

I think Nikishin will have a very solid career, but I am not sold on him being a #1D. He may be, but I feel like the KHL is not as strong as it is perceived to be. He is not so young and has size advantage, but I think this advantage may be further mitigated in the NHL. I still expect him to be a good #3, maybe #2. I am also very open to the possibility that I am wrong and that he is better than I think.

Meanwhile, I think Demidov has star potential, since he did very impressive things at 19 yo. He has a lot of runway to transfer his KHL success to NHL success and then keep on growing. I also think he will fit perfectly with players like Hutson and Suzuki. I think that will amplify his impact.
I am amazed you cannot see the clear logical inconsistency between your two paragraphs. Wow.

And on what do you base yourself to think he ll be a « decent » 2nd liner, when he put up similar production than Michkov in the same league and look what Michkov is doing this season. Do you have an actual analysis about his play that makes you come to this conclusion, or is this purely based on feeling?
100%. His “projection” was based on nothing but a bunch.

Yes, but also the KHL is not as strong as perceived so you can't take what Demidov did without a large amount of skepticism attached to it. I think he will be a decent 2nd line player maybe and maybe can be someone who can one day drive a 2nd line and 2nd PP. I am also very open to the possibility that I am wrong and that he is better than I think.

So is he a second line, 2nd PP player, or is he someone you don't know anything about nor care to?

Having dumb opinions is certainly your right. Being so open about your ignorance and inconsistency is certainly a choice, though.

Learn to read buddy. I acknowledged that it can be perceived this way. Pretty much black on white two posts below.

You have to have an agenda to not understand the point.

You should re-read the thread and the posts and all will become clear.

Demidov is a great young prospect. That’s about all anyone is able to say about him right now

Marlon had a couple of years here and there where he was Montreal’s 1D, didn’t he?
He was the number 1 for a while, just had a period where he got hurt like crazy.

At his height he was easily a top 10 dman in the league, if not higher.

He got a bunch of d paid and some kept it up and some were revealed as being a product.

There's a little talk that Montreal might turn Demidov, or try him at centre, but right now he's a winger.

If both hit, number 1 > number 1 winger.

I have no idea how to judge the KHL. Chris Wideman won the KHL dman of the year and came over to MTL and was a number 7. Josh Leivo is like bizzaro world Ovechkin. I'm real happy to have Demidov based on his highlights, and Nikishin seems like a good shot to be a top pairing guy here, but I'll wait until they play on NA ice before I make any real judgements.

I mean you could say that for any league. Plenty of star players in other leagues become nothing at the NHL level.

Demidov is a great prospect, I would've much rather traded Necas for CBJ pick to take Demidov than what wound up happening with Rantanen and ultimately converting him into Stank and some picks but too bad Necas wouldn't sign in Columbus. I don't think Demidov will live up to the hype that habs fans are creating but he'll be a solid top 6 winger. I still like Michkov much better as a forward prospect out of the K.

Nikishin seems to have a high floor, intangibles like leadership characteristics (captain of SKA and Russian national team at that young of an age is bonkers), rare physicality, and really an incredibly high ceiling scoring-wise too. He projects as a guy who can be an elite 2 way #1 franchise D man. We'll see if he can live up to that but if he does even if Demidov becomes a stud first liner, I take the D man over the winger every time. These are all just projections (guesses) though as no one really knows anything until we see these guys in a meaningful sample size in the NHL.

I just want to point out that Habs posters are cheats and liars because many of them voted for Demidov but not choose the 'Habs fan voting' option. Rigged election in this day and age is unbelievable.
Seem to be a common theme in a lot of polls, and yeah I really don't get the point
