News: Nikishin On Way To Carolina

Even with the Rantanen saga, the Canes took a home run swing and struck out. They still were able to make out with Stankoven and several picks.
Carolina IMO will be one of the most interesting teams to watch over the next season. They have a ton of draft capital and young players/prospects to make a huge splash for that star forward.

The question becomes is there one who will become available?

This is going to turn into a silly rivalry between the two fanbases.

I don't know about that, yeah Demidov and Nikishin were SKA teammates, but the Habs and the Canes ain't in the same division, and I think a lot of the 'rivalry' was manufactured by Marc Bergevin's dumbassery.

Still, even though I'm a Habs fan, I can't wait to see Nikishin adapting in the NHL, I've been on HFBoards all these years because I like the endless team renewal cycle, and as a pooler, I've protected him for the last 3 years in my keeper league, so I'm even happier he's finally going to play.

Im pumped for this! Mostly for fantasy purposes but its still a cool story.

Having Harley, Sanderson, Nikishin, Mateychuk, Buium and Yakemchuk moving forward gives me the fizz (keeper pool)

Good for the Canes. I have a hard time seeing any of their top 6 sitting out though unless they are giving players maintenance breaks or if an injury happens in the playoffs.

Montreal is clearly more efficient than Carolina

For what it's worth, I think why the Demidov thing got done so fast is because Demidov's agent is Dan Milstein, who is arguably the most influential agent when it comes to Russian players/prospects.

Demidov, then Kuznetsov, now Nikishin, all in a matter of days.

Any SKA fans able to relay the mood of the fanbase lately, in the midst of this mass exodus?
And Gritsyuk, and DeAngelo before that. There are some issues going on with the club there, but it's still such a choice destination I'm sure they'll get back on track? Roman Rotenberg seems to be a bit of a polarizing figure, but that franchise is just too attractive and historically successful to flounder for long? :dunno: Everybody wants to play in St.Petersburg if they can. :dunno:

Part of the reason they have these guys in the first place is due to how attractive it is to play there, after all.

This is huge for the Canes. Guy is an absolute stud and makes their D immediately better.

Wild season in terms of players for the Canes.

Another top young star moving from his domestic league to play here. Awesome! So nice to see these guys coming to play here at young ages.

I mean the can't miss stars almost always came to the NHL, if not at 19,20 at 22,23
