Well, is the standard now set for rest of the playoffs? Get a game penalty towards the end for cross-check to the face and you're good to go the next game.
It’s the department of pretty stupid I thinkhaha....they need to rebrand to DPOS
McDavid’s suspension for his cross check on Garland could have been a $7,500 fine instead.Since when has a 2 handed cross check to the face not been a suspension?
McDavid got crosschecked in the face last year against Vancouer and it earned the Canuck player a 1 game suspension. This one was far more egregious.
Somehow that was 3 games and this one was nothing?McDavid’s suspension for his cross check on Garland could have been a $7,500 fine instead.
If you don't think that was intentional, I've got a bridge to sell you.Don't really care tbh. Was a reckless play, but not intentional. Should have got 1 game and nothing more. Knights fans don't get to cry about the blown tripping call on Arvidsson now after Roy getting off.
Parros is a Vegas resident. Remember that. Just like that joke 1 game to Petro for a vicious two hand chop to Drai on an EN goal at the end of the game.No suspension for an unabashed, caught on 4K headshot crosscheck is certainly a choice by the DoPS.
My interpretation of it was Roy raised his arms to hit the puck, it flew by and went off his visor, and then for some reason he thought it was a good idea to throw a cross check to prevent Frederic from playing it, but he did it with his hands already at face height. I think he intentionally cross checked him, but I don't think he intentionally cross checked him in the face. There's absolutely no basis or rational explanation for him to purposely target Frederic's head while in overtime, no incident prior that he's responding to, and of all the people to target he goes after a 3rd line player? Just doesn't make any rational sense. If you don't think that was intentional, I've got a bridge to sell you.
That was as intentional as it gets.
All crosschecks are 2 handed. You have got to be kidding me with this shit.
A fine for a 2 handed cross check to the face?
I'm all for this explanation, but why should it have anything to do with supplemental discipline? My interpretation of it was Roy raised his arms to hit the puck, it flew by and went off his visor, and then for some reason he thought it was a good idea to throw a cross check to prevent Frederic from playing it, but he did it with his hands already at face height. The next CBA needs to allow for significant fines. This is walking around money.
Intent is always a part of punishment. That's even how our legal system works. I said it probably deserved 1 game, but I'm not going to get too upset over him getting nothing. DOPS is bad we all know that.I'm all for this explanation, but why should it have anything to do with supplemental discipline?
If I close my eyes at center ice and hold my stick out and turn around like a tornado and I smack someone in the head, should I get suspended? I mean i didn't mean to hurt anyone...
Sorry I'm not saying it shouldn't have an effect on the outcome...obviously intent to do something is always far worse, I'm saying that "he shouldn't be punished because it was an accident" is the wrong way to look at itIntent is always a part of punishment.
