Nick Suzuki has levelled up as a premier centre

Not as meaningful given the Leafs play max 6 playoff games.
Hey did you know the leafs have never won 3 playoff rounds in the history of the franchise? Look it up :)

I'll preface this by saying Marner is the better player but it's funny that both him and Suzuki were notoriously clutch in Jr (Marner on that London team was spectacular in the playoffs, Suzuki carried Guelph to a championship), but Marner hasn't been able to translate that to the NHL whereas Suzuki has.

Not sure the reasoning for it, but if Marner could find that magic again the Leafs would probably win a cup.

Hes 183rd all time in OT goals. You and others act like hes top five.

Good god... I never thought about that. It's actually hilariously embarrassing and maybe the most depressing part of their cup drought.

He's also put up 27 points in 18 games since telling his GM to stand pat at the deadline in a playoff push with a team who most expected to be bottom 10.

He also, as mentioned before, led a cup finals team in scoring in his sophomore year.

Well yes, but that’s the past.

At least this current core has once gotten as far as getting 5 of the 16 wins needed to win the Stanley Cup!

Hes good but ideally for a cup contender you want someone better as your 1C.
Duh, I wish we had McDavid or MacKinnon to center our first line...

As it stands, at least half of the teams in the league would rather have Suzuki as their 1C than what they got right now. And he's only getting better.

But keep underrating/underestimating him. You'll be the ones looking like fools down the road.

What has Suzuki ever done that is clutch in the NHL? Got a 1st overall pick for his team?
1. Led his junior team to a memorial cup
2. Won a gold medal at the WJC
3. Led his team as a 1C to the SCF at 21 years old
4. Led his team out of the rebuilding phase

He’s not even 26 years old yet.
