Nick Suzuki has levelled up as a premier centre

- 7th in scoring as Centerman
- Incoming top5 votes for Selke
- Amazing Captain / Leader
- Didn't get his nickname Big Dick Nick for nothing
- Insanely clutch and never seems to panic
- Doing all that with the 2nd youngest club in the NHL
- Never takes a day off, 3rd longest ironman streak behind Burns and Suter with 447 games in a row and counting

Idk, i'd say at least top45 in the league

I wouldn't say that Carey Price wasn't a leader. He wasn't a vocal guy when the mic was on but his play talked for itself. For what we had in front of him (nothing for most of his career) he always rallied the team with his play. We always had stoic captains, and while Price wasn't a captain for us, I would definitely not say he wasn't a leader.

He wasn’t a leader at all, didn’t inspire others, he was a very solitary guy, lazy during training sessions. He just did his job ( greatly ) during the games and that’s it.

...were you in the room??...cuz guys like PK would disagree that Price wasn't one of the Leadership group on the team...

Probably not, just saying the Habs would be an emphatic no, just due to all the intangibles he has over Stutzle, the Sens imo would be foolish to not atleast consider it, even if they eventually pass.

Clutch
Character
Durability
Leadership
2 way game

All sway in Suzuki's favour.

Stutzle's only plus is his offensive upside, but not so much more that everything else can be negated.
I don't know...Suzuki needs work on his forward double somersault, tuck...Stutzle has the repertoire down.

Carey is not a leader at all, however he was the best player in the world in the playoffs when he was rested.
Uh... what???

This is just... such a bad post.

Suzuki put up 16 in 22 and was a net negative when he was on the ice.

Price dragged that team to the finals.
Price dragged the team to the finals. This is absolutely true.

But Nick Suzuki played really well for a 21 year old. Scored some clutch goals and was their highest point getter. He certainly played well.

Two years ago you could question if he was a number one. But he's leveled up since then. He's a legit number one center and he's played extremely well down the stretch when the team has really needed it. He deserves props for that.

I've had my gripes about Suzuki this season, but that just shows he's at the next level. Even when a fan watching can be annoyed about a perceived lack of effort over a period of games, he's still producing and the gripe is only that he could produce more.

I'd just like to remind people that for years there have been claims made that Suzuki would never be a real 1st line center. Meanwhile, I've routinely said that he would develop into that elite 2-way center (akin to Bergeron, Kopitar, etc.). We're getting there. He is constantly improving year after year, and as the Habs roster gets better, his stats will also take a bump. Expect him to be even better in the next few years.

We haven't had a center this good in Montreal for over 30 years.

Yeah the durability most be the most underrated attribute for players. Being able to play every game is a huge plus on a players value imo. Very often overlook for PPG.
