+6 inchesI don’t realize the NHL was some RPG where players level up. Did he unlock a cool new spell or ability?

I'll preface this by saying Marner is the better player but it's funny that both him and Suzuki were notoriously clutch in Jr (Marner on that London team was spectacular in the playoffs, Suzuki carried Guelph to a championship), but Marner hasn't been able to translate that to the NHL whereas Suzuki has.
Not sure the reasoning for it, but if Marner could find that magic again the Leafs would probably win a cup.
If Demidov plays wing he will eventually replace Caufield on the first line because you have to keep Slaf to grind. Caufield is the perfect weapon for a 2nd line, and while he is good at forechecking, backcheking and a good stick in the neutral zone, his defensive pressure in the zone very weak.I'm a fan of Slafkovskys and his potential, but Demidov will 'level up' Suzuki and Caufield if he joins that line. Currently too many plays die on Slafkovsky's stick. I could see Suzuki hit 100 and Caufield score 50 if Demidov hits the ground running.
Well, led a Cup final team in his sophomore year in scoring for oneWhat has Suzuki ever done that is clutch in the NHL? Got a 1st overall pick for his team?
You don't remember 2021 ? Leafs ? Galchenyuk ? Ot ? COVID years were roughWhat has Suzuki ever done that is clutch in the NHL? Got a 1st overall pick for his team?
Nico Hischier does not belong anywhere close to Suzuki/AhoA true #1C maybe not a top 10 but he's in the same category as player like Sebastian Aho or Nico Hischier
Well, led a Cup final team in his sophomore year in scoring for one
Carey Price put up 17 points? Huh, first I've heard of it.That was Carey Price... Suzuki had terrible stats.
Carey Price put up 17 points? Huh, first I've heard of it.
So what you're saying is that in his sophomore season, Suzuki led a cup final team in scoring? That sounds familiar, wasn't that posted a while back?Suzuki put up 16 in 22 and was a net negative when he was on the ice.
Price dragged that team to the finals.
Bergevins greatest strength was finding good deals for low prices, but his arrogance and hubris prevented him from paying to get Carey Price some goal support. He was too conservative and stubborn. Even though he made some good trades his weaknesses outweighed the strengths and that's why he got canned.Bergevin was overall a stone cold moron, but goddamn he pulled off some amazing trades.
About time these two teams have lethal #1 Centers againIf anyone thinks the Habs would trade Suzuki for Stutzle, they're of their rocker.
I don't know, we'll see, Demidov and Caufield all have a bit of grit to them. Regardless I hope we try the experiment in training campIf Demidov plays wing he will eventually replace Caufield on the first line because you have to keep Slaf to grind. Caufield is the perfect weapon for a 2nd line, and while he is good at forechecking, backcheking and a good stick in the neutral zone, his defensive pressure in the zone very weak.
Everything is like thatI don’t realize the NHL was some RPG where players level up. Did he unlock a cool new spell or ability?
BLIZZAGAIII unlocked?Everything is like that

I don’t see either team trading their guy for the other.

The locker room has probably a lot to play with it.
Marner was not surrounded by great leaders. Nick was surrounded by Shea Weber and Carey Price. Hard to beat.
Objectively he belong. 16 points in 14 games since Jack Hughes injury. 80 points 2 years ago, near ppg since and elite defensively. He just doesnt have the same offensive opprtunity as Aho and Suzuki because he's playing behind Jack Hughes.Nico Hischier does not belong anywhere close to Suzuki/Aho
Maybe one day you can live up to your nameSuzuki put up 16 in 22 and was a net negative when he was on the ice.

I wouldn't say that Carey Price wasn't a leader. He wasn't a vocal guy when the mic was on but his play talked for itself. For what we had in front of him (nothing for most of his career) he always rallied the team with his play. We always had stoic captains, and while Price wasn't a captain for us, I would definitely not say he wasn't a leader.Carey is not a leader at all, however he was the best player in the world in the playoffs when he was rested.
Eliminated your team from the playoffs for oneWhat has Suzuki ever done that is clutch in the NHL? Got a 1st overall pick for his team?
Thank you Vegas for not wanting to deal Cody Glass
