Guy is the anti Pacioretty. Slow starts but dominates when it matters the most and doesn't prey on empty netters and blow outs.He reached a new level.
Pretty much Barkov calibre now. Perennial Selke nominations.
Is *that* particular photoshop still floating around?
What do you mean slow startGuy is the anti Pacioretty. Slow starts but dominates when it matters the most and doesn't prey on empty netters and blow outs.
Despite his points his play wasn't great. He even called himself out and then got a 4 point game against the Sabres. What do you mean slow starthis worst stretch is in november, he had a 4 game streak without a point.
He had 2 and 4 points, so effectively his "worst" sequence, he had 6 points in 6 games.
He called himself out...............and then delivered. What a season ongoing.Despite his points his play wasn't great. He even called himself out and then got a 4 point game against the Sabres.
When I say slow, I mean slow compared to how he's been playing lately. Not slow like Newhook.
Yep. He was good enough to get points even when not playing at his best. That's the sign of a good player.Despite his points his play wasn't great. He even called himself out and then got a 4 point game against the Sabres.

Great and sad at the same time. You have to go back like 30 years for a 90 point year. That’s pathetic. And it’s like 40 years to get to 100.You’d have to go to the history books to find another habs player as good.
It’s more than just points, but looking at points…
He’s 6 from Kovalev’s best as a Hab
… then you have to go back almost 30 years to the Vinny, Kirk, Pierre era to find better production. Crazy.
We’ve gone decades without a PPG center. We finally got one and it just so happens he’s one of the best defensive forwards in the game as well. You’d have to go to the history books to find another habs player as good.

Not easy to do both. We’ve gone decades without a PPG center. We finally got one and it just so happens he’s one of the best defensive forwards in the game as well.
That'll change very soon with DemidovGreat and sad at the same time. You have to go back like 30 years for a 90 point year. That’s pathetic. And it’s like 40 years to get to 100.
All three of the guys you mentioned had multiple rings being the number one center on their team. You don’t see players like this very often but they’re the guys you win championships with. Not easy to do both.
Bergeron, Kopitar, Toews - I believe these guys achieved a point/game season only once in their careers.
Demidov, IMO, will eventually line up with Suzuki and Caufield, or Suzuki and Slafkovsky. He's got good enough defensive awareness and acumen to help garner a positive goal differential that sees opposing coaches try to keep their best players away from the Suzuki line. That'll change very soon with Demidov

I could see a line of Caufield (80Ps) - Suzuki (Near 100Ps) - Demidov (90Ps) and Hutson getting 80 points as well.

It's been a long time since Kovalev, almost 20 years ago?
We about to see a PPG season from a Habs player.
Pleks and Kostitsyn produced the same as CC and Slaf this season (combined average over 82g).Yeah, it's been a while. Points are inflated these days, though. To put kovalev's brilliance into some perspective that year, his 84 points was on the back of a deadly powerplay which was mainly running through him, but 5 on 5, his regular mates were Andrei kostitsyn and tomas plekanec.
Kovalev finished 10th in scoring. Suzuki is currently 19th.
I've noticed Normand Flynn is getting fewer and fewer sound bytes these days I wonder why?"Je serais prêt à donner un jeune joueur comme Nick Suzuki pour aller le chercher (Simmonds). Parce que Suzuki, tu vas en avoir des Suzuki dans l'équipe du Canadien. Suzuki c'est comme Byron, Suzuki c'est un petit attaquant qui est bon passeur mais t'as Kotkaniemi qui et là et t'as Lehkonen..."
- Norman Flynn
Suzuki reminds me of a younger Barkov atm.. sky's the limit.Pleks and Kostitsyn produced the same as CC and Slaf this season (combined average over 82g).
63pts/82GP
Suzuki, Caufield and Slaf could finish with the same point totals as Kovy, Pleks and AK, respectively.
Impressive that Suzuki is producing like Kovalev while playing the 200ft game that Plekanec handled for his line.
08 Plekanec is closer to Suzuki than he is to Cole or Slaf.Yeah, it's been a while. Points are inflated these days, though.
