Just scored his 85th points which is the highest total since Pierre Turgeon in 1995-96 who had fittingly 96 points. Suzuki surpasses Kovalev from 2007-08 who had 84 points.

Let's say that this is much better than when Oleg Petrov and Saku Koivu were leading the team with 47 points somewhere in the middle of the dead puck era. I remember those days and my father going to bed depressed.

+ Damphousse: 94 pts during season 95/96

Montreal was built around Price for many years. A tight defensive system, little scoring

Suzuki is now 12th OA in NHL scoring only 2 pts from being in top 10.

There's only 5 centers in the NHL with more points than Suzuki: MacKinnon, Drasaitl, Eichel, McDavid & Crosby. What a club to be part of!

He's just getting started, too. He's the youngest of them all.

Caufield is now in the top ten for goals.

I think the last time we had a top ten goal scorer was Richer. The last time we had a top ten point getter was Naslund.

Koivu was awesome. Got hit by injuries and cancer. He almost lost an eye once. I think he once had like 70 points.

Nick scores so consistently and so understated. What a great trade for Patches.

I hate that my first thought was "wow that's really sad" but that shouldn't take anything away from what Suzuki is doing.

I went into the season firmly believing he was a 1b type of first line centre and he has shut me up completely. Hell of a year and I can't wait to see what he does next

Man, trading Damphous away was so dumb. Dude was legendary and still had a bunch of good years with the Sharks. I don’t even remember what we got for him but it wasn’t enough

The 1st rounder that became Marcel Hossa and some other crap. ‘99 was a seriously depressing season.

Context-free Recchi stats:

Recchi before Habs: 120 pts
Recchi with Habs: 80 pts
Recchi after Habs: 91 pts
