Career year coming fir Ritchie

upload_2021-9-15_7-39-23.png

Nick Ritchie career best totals are 15 goals and/or 31 points and those came in different seasons. So those are the personal best marks to beat, and weighing in at 230 lbs.

why do we close threads so often, anyways?

anyways Ritchie is a decent player at a decent salary. He'll actually impress you more with skill than with physicality - he is most definitely not an energy type player, and he's on the slow side. But he has a nice set of hands and he is an immovable object.

Leaf fans who don't know him are going to hate him in short order. Takes a ton of penalties, inconsistent motor and effort level. Not really all that physical given his size.

Has some okay skill, but there's a reason he's bounced around a bit already at his age.

I think people will be most disappointed to find out that he's not a crazy physical player.

Define physical please.
Imo he plays heavy: hard to get the puck from, muscles his way into his position and can't be easily moved and can carry the puck through traffic.
This things are what I would say we are missing as a team.
Is that playing physical?

I always thought when I would hear people say that or post it here that generally it’s code for staged fighting and chasing hits that often put the player out of position.

Last year Nick had 37 pims in 56 games. Not bad.
Last year Nick's 102 hits would have led Toronto. Toronto's top forward had 69 hits.

Fills a void that is for sure.

Ha yeah, that’s why it’s so easy to say. So i will up that and say he iut scores Hyman. I don’t think Hyman is going to fit as well with the Oil

If he gets to play with our stars like Hyman did then all the Hyman fans will see what a difference having actual hands makes. Ritchie could be a great fit on our PP standing in the crease batting in rebounds which Hyman could never do. If he plays on the third line he will suck but so will Hyman.

69 hits is very poor sire. By any standards in any hockey league with 56 games. Period. That's poor. We got better now. Our suckas like bunting, ritchie, even simmonds will pummel peeps to the grummel. Even gabriel when he gets the chance to play from demaiter. Our 4 goons will pummel suckas down to the earth. Like mud y'all heard me. Next season is ezours.

Yeah really true about the hands of Hyman but not fully true because he improved the last couple years somehow. It looked like he was going to always be stone hands but he managed to improve. Ritchie adds protection, the big body that won’t take sh!t in the crease/ net front ( whatever it’s called now) i just call it the crease. He has good hands. Ritchie/ Simmonds in the crease on the powerplay is probably going to happen for sure

Yeah no doubt thats bad. Kurtis Gabriel had 46 hits in 11 games last year ;)

Nylander does all those things (possibly better than Ritchie) and not many consider him to be a physical player.
But Willie is too pretty to be a physical player, lol.

jokes aside, I think being 6’2 and 230pounds plus having fights here and there make Ritchie a physical player.

I think the team will miss Hyman and I won’t be surprise if Hyman is select to be in Team Canada instead of JT and MM.
Ritchie will be interesting on the PP bc in Boston, he doesn’t have the chance to be on their PP1 but will have his chance with the Leafs.

Marner will be on Team Canada easily. Personally if I’m picking that team i take Tavares over Hyman as my left winger. Hyman isn’t making team Canada. Is that whats going around now?

The most physical player in camp will be Kurtis Gabriel. He might make 13 forward and get games if he shows solid defensive play in camp. I’m probably the only leafer that thinks so so i get it if you don’t agree. :)

I didn’t say Hyman will make it. I said I won’t be surprise if Team Canada choose Hyman over JT and MM. the reasons are simple, Team Canada always like to pick duos esp when it comes to their top players, Kuntiz made the team bc of Sid, whose to say they won’t pick Hyman if he clicks with McDavid for the next three months.
Just like if Killorn-Stamkos-Point become a perfection like of sort, I highly doubt Team Canada won’t pick all three despite knowing a few of the guys they are passing are miles better than Killorn.

For my namesake, I want Gabriel to succeed.
So when he plays great and he scores, everyone on this board will be cheering my name, lol
