In theory, there are only two random, no notice tests for the Avs. So if he can squeak by both, he should pass the 48 hour notice tests too. The bad news, he got pinched on 2/3 of the no notice tests last year.

Let's just hope that if he gets caught again it happens before the trade deadline.
Yeah gotta hope that for this year most certainly. On the downside there would be uncertainty on the following season.

The absolute worst case is him getting caught between the deadline and the playoffs. It would screw this and next season unless he agrees to a mutual termination.

How long does Coke stay in your system to be picked up on a test?

Best case scenario is that he comes back, plays well, and we ship his ass out to some chump team before he either a) gets caught again, or b) gets clean but goes back to sucking again like he did with Dallas.

Which does the NHL do?
NHL is urine test unless it is agreed upon for a different test.

The timeframe on a urine test for the occasional user (say once a month) will be under 2 days. Someone who does it say weekly will move to 3-4 days. A daily user who has used it for months might be 10-14 days.

So for Nuke to have gotten pinched multiple times he's at the very least a weekly user, probably even more like every few days.
The three standard tests (training camp, regular season, and playoffs) are no notice tests. So that could be bad luck and getting caught at the wrong times. But odds are he’s a multiple time a week user.

What about a person like Nuke that uses it daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
