Niagara Icedogs 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

there may end up being lawsuits against the current owner, the team and bb based on his interactions with at least 2 former employees. he wont be back.

look at why they had to hire a equipment manager half way through the year.

So far, we have a lot of innuendo and accusations. What we are missing is facts.

At this stage, we know that the league was not happy with the way the team was run.
They definitely were not happy with the GM
All coaching staff was let go
Some of the star players seem to think the coaches were a scapegoat and liked BB.

Therefore, until the new GM is hired and makes a decision or BB takes a new job somewhere else, he is still in the running.

The bottom line is that this is an even bigger mess righ now then it was before the league took control.

Dave Branch was not one of my heroes, although I liked the guy BUT at least before he announced that the league was taking over, he would have announced the new GM at the same time and had everything ready.

This new guy is failing badly.

He has had a month and nothing. All they aredoing now is creating a lot of crap that does not have to be there for everyone

I’ll leave the still above the stuff I bolded to people who know more than I do but please explain how they’re worse off now then before the league took over I don’t quite understand how you think that.

To your point on branch I can’t remember cause it’s been so long when exactly the flint situation happened (time of year) but the reason why an announcement and GM was figured out so quickly is because it was someone from league office (his kid) taking over and not someone who’s currently still employed by a team that’s still playing if that rumour is true

there is no way that the past coach will ever coach in niagara. and he may coach again in the ohl but its going to take some time. the league removed him and the team and him may be invovled in 2 different lawsuits due to the relationship that occurred in one instance and the firing in another. both parties complained to the ohl about BB and that, along with a few other things, are why he is no longer there and may unofficially be banned from the league for a year.

My point is the league would or should have had things in line, and so when they announced things, tere was no doubt. As it is there is a lot of mystery and unknown. The fans are left in limbo, the players that are playing on the team have no idea what is happening, and the players drafted are lost and confused. More importantly, sponsors are left with no idea what is happening

Until lawsuits are actually registered, there is nothing to your case against anyone. As to BB being fired, that makes sense. If the league felt that there were issues with the Organization, then they would remove everything and leave it up to the new GM to make decisions.

Again, except for innuendo from a fan, there is nothing substantive that says the new GM could not sit down with BB and decide that, with some corrections, he would still be the best coach for the team.

So, even though you may be right, the full extent of your suggestion is still unknown. There may be an accident on the road in front of the arena. There may be someone who dies in St Catherine's.
