What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.
In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerDD, you should have known better. Teams owned by you are perpetually in a rebuild.After completing 5 “first day on job” trades and then issuing the statement below, all the knowledgeable IceDog fans knew immediately this franchise was going to be a train-wreak with an OHL clueless owner/GM and that’s exactly what he accomplished.
“Never want to rebuild. I don’t believe with this facility, in this location, in this region we should ever have to rebuild. I don’t think we ever need to be in a rebuild.”

Yet all he did was engage in the sort of Hail Mary trades where you try to snag that one single player who later turns out to be a hero - overpaying in the process and never realizing the results he expected. It's kind of like having "buy lottery tickets" as your investment strategy.“Never want to rebuild. I don’t believe with this facility, in this location, in this region we should ever have to rebuild. I don’t think we ever need to be in a rebuild.”

I wouldn't call it that.The Great Once and DD involved in a little bit of fraud .... maybe?
I know the Hunters love him!I don't think he was fooling anyone but most owners probably liked the dollar figure and having less competition more than they were worried about him making the league look bad.
Who assembled this team for the coach? Plenty of blame to go around.303 GA! The d making the same bad reads in the last week as the first week. Same selfish individual play. These aren’t DD’s issues, they’re on BB’s head. Where’s the development, where’s the leadership? Where’s the commitment to team defence? There’s more than enough issues off ice that everyone is aware of but I think with everyone focusing on those you’ve missed a significant problem on ice. Changes have to happen.
Agree! Plenty of blame to go around.Who assembled this team for the coach? Plenty of blame to go around.
This is because bringing in cash in deals is more important to him then improving the team.Agree! Plenty of blame to go around.
You only have to look at the difference in the make-up of these two team’s D-Core to see the problem is as much the owner/GM as it is the coach
DD traded away draft picks and youth to assemble a sub-par defence, that does not feature a single IceDogs’ drafted player over his three seasons.
ICEDOGS D-CORE
6.02. Van Vliet
6.01. Blair
6.00. Brauti
6.00. Cheynowski
5.11. Virgilio
On the other-hand, Marty drafted three of his core players and traded (with Niagara) to acquire two NHL drafted players:
BARRIE D-CORE
6.07 Eliasson NHL Drafted (2nd rd)
6.04 Passmore {NHL 3rd Prospect}
6.02 Bertucci NHL Drafted (2nd rd)
6.01 Akey NHL Drafted (2nd rd)
6.01 Aitcheson {NHL Top 10-15 Prospect}
Two d-cores not even close in talent
not that this matters to us if DDD is still running the team this summer which I’m betting he will be but
Triple bypass, and the heart of Niagara will suffer.I like this idea, especially if the league expands to more teams. Many are worried that expansion will water down the league so adding an extra import player could help.
But if DD is still running the team, it won’t be a good thing for the IceDogs.
Just once I'd like to see a GM in Niagara build a team from the net out. I'd also enjoy seeing a HC focus on team defense rather than trying to outscore the leaky back end.Agree! Plenty of blame to go around.

Believe it or not, I believe Ben's focus since Christmas has been the defensive side of the game. I have watched this team be in a trap most of the second half but once the puck gets in our end things devolve into chaos...players afraid to make mistakes stop skating.Just once I'd like to see a GM in Niagara build a team from the net out. This is a day one decision, not something you try on at the end of the season. Not entirely his fault given the players he has on the back end, but it's something you have to promote at the start.Believe it or not, I believe Ben's focus since Christmas has been the defensive side of the game. Are they? It's not a rebuild if you don't build!DD, you should have known better. Teams owned by you are perpetually in a rebuild.
Correct. I've said from the start, he isn't a builder - he is a tinkerer. A builder has a plan and follows it. A tinkerer has no plan but "tries" different things hoping one of them works.Are they? It's not a rebuild if you don't build!
Ok...so, he isn't a builder, he might be a tinkerer but I know what he is for certain...but I can't say it on here!Correct. I've said from the start, he isn't a builder - he is a tinkerer. “If” there are some mysterious scratches tonight, there’s a reason.Today is the big day. Breaking our playoff drought.
Go Dogs! Lets see a surprise.
