Niagara Icedogs 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

A buddy of mine wore this to tonights game. He was asked politely to take the jersey off during the second period. We are going to the IceDogs office on Monday to ask why.

I’m not surprised they did that i remember in the last couple years of the Burke boys some people had signs about getting rid of Billy and those got taken away pretty sure it’s a rule throughout the league you can’t say or have things saying certain things against people involved with the teams

People always say things like this but when it comes time to get those opportunities to either boo him or chant something negative towards him like last night it’s crickets nice to see Bruce get a bit of a reaction though
 
The team may have its issues but I do enjoy watching the Ice Dogs tv crew. They are not 'homers' as so many other crews are. Al does a good job of interviewing players while Steve and Ed provide entertaining play by play and between period analysis with insight and good humour. Whatever happens, they are by far my favourites.

Our tv broadcast is stellar given the resources they have. I go to about 3/4 of the home games so I only get to watch a handful of games with them. We are lucky to have them.

I always wondered about their ratings and how many people are watching.

Does anybody have a clue about when the playoff schedule gets announced? I was figuring I would see it this morning.

Agree! Luv your TV Crew. Specially OLD School Ed..calls it as he sees it. Loves to give kiddos no matter what team it is..
 
OHL Cup started today. It should give Niagara fans a good chance to watch and check up on the top players for the upcoming draft. Too bad none of them will be interested in playing here!

I was talking to Brent Gretzky about Niagara this past weekend and asked him about Waynes involvement with the team as i was curious of the details.

DD offered Wayne 10% of the teams ownership just to use his name to get the OHL to allow him to buy the team.
Wayne did not contribute a dollar and forfeited his whole 10% less then a year later to have his name removed from any involvement with the team or DD.

Pretty wild that people are willing to wipe their hands of in the neighborhood 2M+ to just not deal with this clown.

When they can't beat a team that's lower in the standings than them, it's hard to imagine a win with one that is significantly higher. This happens also when one team treats it as a nothing game and the other treats it as a warm-up for the play-offs.

Did Brent mention why Wayne got involved in the first place?
