I think they were doing so well at the beginning of the year that Ben let them play an offensive game to bag some points. As teams improved after the trade deadline, he knew we needed to add some defensive play to be competitive. The problem being that very few of our players are used to playing a defensive game. When I watch them now they look like they are afraid to make a mistake and are thinking instead of executing.
You would be afraid to make mistakes too if every second or third shot ends up in the net like it has been (that’s including a few games that Flores played before he got hurt)

Does the Falcon goalie gets recalled Humphries is really struggling.
I would think him or moffett would get a game or two with Humphries struggling but maybe since he’s your “goalie of the future” (at least for now) maybe you just let him keep playing and hopefully he figures it out those other guys being on playoff teams and good ones at that might also come into play

Since returning from the Christmas break, the IceDogs have won 5 of its last 23 games. During this stretch our team has given up a 116 goals (5.04 GAA), Flores started 19 of those games; Humphries 4 of them. Humphries isn't the problem. Defensively this team has been bad all year (248 GA) and awful the last 8 week, not just the last 8 days.

A few band-aid wins, to close out the season, won’t fix the deep-rooted problems plaguing this franchise. If we don’t get a change in ownership, expect another dysfunctional team on and off the ice next year.

BB isn't a defence first kind of coach.
...and DD did BB no favours disposing of valauble draft capital to construct this 24-25 d-core. There is truth to "you can't get blood from a stone". The considerable list of problems (players, parents, agents, season ticket sales) DD is currently dealing with (and will only increase during the off-season) is our only hope that he moves on from this franchise.

Bringing in Cheynowski (2.5-3.5 seasons), Virgilio (3), Brauti (3) & Scott (1-2); and VanVliet to stabilize this season’s defence corps was some fine work by the IceDogs imo. That is better and longer lasting than Sobolev, Podrekar, and Frolov.
Much of the defensive problems are too many young and small forwards to truly compete at this time.

Well, I appreciate your rose coloured glasses but wonder what you are looking at? This team is poorly constructed and has little chance for success.

The fact remains that the IceDogs made some good progress this season. (even with this horrid losing streak)
Sorry DE. Only progress this franchise has accomplished is to continue to go backwards. For whatever reason you don’t want to acknowledge what many knowledge fans on here have expressed regarding the state of this franchise. I’m not about to put everything out here, but what has been shared on here is only the tip of the iceberg. This franchise under DD is in trouble. That’s the truth.

For whatever reason you don't want to acknowledge that we have a far better record this season.

So far this season = 27 wins
Last season = 17 wins.

A significant improvement.
The reality of the OHL is if a GM did nothing their team would have a better record each year! What DD has accomplished in all aspects of this franchise is an embarrassment not an accomplishment.
Just wait for it this offseason, if he is still the owner.
