Kind of funny watching this from a distance. The former STH’s won’t spend money because DD won’t spend money. Kind of ironic isn’t it?
Sounds about right. Except the former STH did spend money when DDD didn't. But wait until the trade deadline! It will get funnier then!

Kind of funny watching this from a distance.
Brantford isn't that far of a distance.

When you phrase it like that It actually makes sense because the reverse would also then be true?

“Former STH won’t spend money because DD won’t spend money”. So, if DD were to spend money, former STHs would also spend money.

More predictions of impending doom I see!

13 and 5. Second overall in the league. Best start in franchise history.
i know you will tag this as being negative but the IceDogs are over performing at the moment and the reality is one at a time, at different times, I count 5 (probably 6) teams that are going to overtake the IceDogs this season.

Except it’s the former STH’s who are doing all the whining and I’ll hazard to guess DD already has a lot more skin in the game than them. Besides that, rarely do we see those complainers ever offer a word of encouragement to this team on the ice. What are you afraid of …some new fans might go to the games?

"over performing" is a nice way to say they are a far better team than you were expecting.

Why exactly do you think we are going to drop 5 or 6 spots when we are already a quarter of the way thru the season?
To clarify, by over-performing I was trying to politely say their play has been that of a .500 team but great goaltending, Kevin He and RR heroics have earned them some wins in games they were outplayed.
There are a group of teams with stronger talent bases; key players returning and draft capital to strengthen their teams. The overtake is inevitable. It will be 5 for sure but I can see it being 6 teams. IceDogs will finish 7th most likely (or 6th maybe).

Ok, so except for our goalie and our best players we are a terrible team.

You can say that about every team.
Not exactly what I said. What I’m actually saying is there are at least 5 probably 6 teams with stronger talent bases and draft capital to overtake the IceDogs (.500 team). I doubt there are many who follow the OHL that would disagree with that.

Nobody expects them to go from worst to first but with your positive view please don’t come back as a STH.

I have been a season ticket holder from day one of the icedogs. When I was a kid, my dad had season tickets to the blackhawks. I will continue to support the players by cheering them on even when times are tough. Our current owner is trying to learn on the fly but his track record in Brantford tells me he is a slow learner.

Currently, we have a team that is playing well together and resilient. However, we are a couple of injuries away from being challenged to win games. Stay healthy dogs and don't make any trades at the deadline.

The analytics say Niagara is on track to end up to barely be playoff team if they continue performing how they currently are. (and they have been overachieving) 7th-8th is realistically where you land.

You are at a -0.5 Delta right now which is barely ahead of Sarnia, Soo,, Sudbury and Peterborough.
The goal scoring depth on Niagara is not good enough to sustain giving up 3.6 per game imo.

Luckily for you you have one of the weakest Nov schedules out of any team imo.

They might or might not something is missing with some of those teams especially Brantford and Brampton

Nothing that an abundance of talent and draft capital won’t fix rather quickly. IceDogs will NOT finish ahead of those two teams don’t set yourself and other fans up for disappointment

Not all trades work out a trade in 2018-19 didn’t work for the Icedogs destroyed the team acutely and resulted in a second round exit

Where do you see this analytics?
I have access to a wide variety of advanced analytics for all leagues.
It's not public as the software costs several thousands of dollars a year per user.
I can tell you with 100% confidence that you do not want to be anywhere near the right side of this chart following the past 6-7 season closely using this data.

Thanks, it would be cool to know where they started the season. It would also be useful to know how much data is from before the start of the season they are using.
This is from the 2024 regular season only what i posted.
It starts at 0.
When i mentioned previous seasons it was specific to how poorly performing teams finish on the right side of the chart.
I do not want to bore anyone to death with advanced statistics and get to deep into it but when i say Niagara is not headed towards a good place it's data driven based on data thats been proven to be reliable the last several years to me.

But they input more data after every game, correct? So if they keep winning and performing well they will move to the left?

That is quite the departure from DDD is all-in to finish 8th at the expense of the 2025-26,27 seasons.
Barrie is unquestionably better.
Brampton, Oshawa, and Kingston are very likely to use up draft capital in an attempt to over take Niagara.

Of course. That was ‘data from ‘24 season only’. In other words, completely irrelevant considering the overhaul on defence plus the addition of Loshko minus graduations on other teams.
