That's a lot of picks for a lot of mid. Seems like new ownership is trying to force this team to be good instead of letting a natural cycle run it's course.

Dickerson as a defect would return ~3(2nds & 3rds) and compensatory #5 pick and I think an end of round 2 pick; ideal imo.

Like people scoff at anything that is beyond a 2nd rounder, but 3, 4, 5, even 6th's are roster players. Wild to me that they are adding these kinds of players when they have a young group to develop. Where's their ice time going?

They don't expect to contend for a championship this season but it is important that they get their young guys some playoff experience. For this reason the leadership and character of the 3 OAs they acquired may be more important than their ability.
Also, I expect that Dickinson will be declared defected and they will trade him for a boatload of picks.
