I'll start off with Matt Cooke, he's done it all been suspended for knees, headshots, and overall dangerous hits. I'm sure we'll see a lot of people naming Cooke

Legacy Moments :

Steve Downie suspended 20 games for a terrible pre-season hit on Dean McAmmond.

Ovi had a few suspensions and some odd knee on knees but I don't think his intent was ever bad

Bertuzzi, Hunter, and McSorley would have the claim to the three notorious incidents. Darius Kasparitis, Chris Simon, Claude Lemieux, Bryan Marchment, Ken Linseman some others that just spring to mind.

Downie, Shaw, and Carcillo were all kind of the same brand of contemptible gutter trash. They're just in the general scumbag big for me rather than notorious.

When you throw as many hits as Ovechkin has there are going to be some questionable ones. He's not even the most notorious cheap shot artist on his team. Would have Malkin as the dirtier player between the two.

Bryan Marchment was a scary player to watch because he would hit to kill and it didn't matter if the opponent was in a vulnerable position or not. I would always cringe everytime he went low knee on knee on someone, or when the player had their back turned to him against the boards. The one thing about him he would normally back the cheap shot up by scrapping.

Kadri. Even if he hasn't been suspended in a few years, he's still got his usual shitbag tendencies. Went to a Jets/Flames preseason game 2 years ago and he slewfooted a guy. It's f***ing preseason ffs.

He literally doesn't know how not to be a shitbag. Even when he won the cup he was more concerned with beefing people

Darius Kasparitis and Ulf Samuelsson were the first two players that came to mind. But I was also a LOT younger back then and now I'm not certain if Ulf was dirty or just a big hitter.

We did used to say that 'Kasparitis' sounds like a disease so whenever someone got laid out by him we'd say they got a case of Kasparitis.

In my hockey watching, he was probably the most egregious case of "I don't give two shits about the well-being of anyone on the ice" that I can recall.

Never quite understood the Reaves argument. He's thrown 3 bad hits that have led to supplementary discipline. Guess how many total hits he's thrown? Over 3000. It's actually impressive that he's been able to stay clean compared to many of the other big hitters around the league for as long as he has. He doesn't belong in the same sentence as Hartman or Wilson.

Shocked there's no mention of "captain" Mark Messier

This guy could feed an entire homeless population if he served them his elbows
