NHL Veterans With Zero Career Fights

Because he sat on the bench and left his team shorthanded in a brawl. Someone got a good 2 on 1 beating because of that and it followed him the rest of his career. Fans don’t like cowards who don’t care about their teammates
IIRC, the Rangers and the Islander had a brawl in a game around 1990. The Rangers had a player named Jeff Bloemberg, who refused to fight based on religious reasons. He did take a beating though. But this just a 35 year old memory, so I could be wrong.

None of Quinn Hughes, Cale Makar or Miro Heiskanen have a recorded fight on HockeyFights.

So, depending on where you have Miro in your DMan rankings, you could say that none of the top-3 DMen in the league have a recorded fight - which would HAVE to be a first in the NHL's history.

I just ran a filtered search on NHL.com. There are actually a ton of vets with no major penalties (it doesn't seem to distinguish between fighting majors and other types of majors, so there could be players with non-fighting

Here's a link to players since 1970 with more than 500 GP sorted by number of Major Penalties: NHL Stats

Here's the list of players with 1,000 GP with no majors:

Perron was in a quasi fight with Bobby Ryan in 2010 but didn't get a fighting major:

Kimmo Timonen "fought" Kris Letang in the 2012 playoffs. I am not sure they got fighting majors or just misconducts. Great list.

McDavid and Draisaitl haven't been in a fight in their NHL careers.
McDavid was in a couple in junior. Broke his hand in his last junior fight, missed a bunch of hockey, and probably decided it wasn't worth it.

Yes, I remember that. I could never remember his name and I was an fetus when it happened but I remember my father telling me about it.

I also remember some similar story where a dude was in a war of another conscientious objector Desmond Doss who was a war hero. Cool stuff.

Neither of those dudes fought but they didn’t sit back and watch their teammates get hurt either. Respect

“Those” games? There aren’t fights in All Star games. What the f*** are you even talking about?

The reason why I remember the Turgeon fight was because when it happened several members the team Canada JR team gave interviews saying "we could have used that a few years ago"

I don't think Saku Koivu has had a fighting major in the NHL but I could be wrong
Ah, yes, I probably have the worst memory known to human kind but I tend to remember the most random things. Saku Koivu fighting Patrick Eaves being one of them. I don't know if they gave them majors or minors, though.

Mika Zibanejad never had a fight and usually skates away from scrums or hugs the opposition. He is a big 6'2 225 wussy
