NHL Veterans With Zero Career Fights

Anze Kopitar would've made the list, but that piece of shit scumbag Alex Burrows forced Kopitar to drop the gloves when Dustin Brown annihilated Henrik Sedin in the 2012 playoffs.

I just ran a filtered search on NHL.com. There are actually a ton of vets with no major penalties (it doesn't seem to distinguish between fighting majors and other types of majors, so there could be players with non-fighting

Here's a link to players since 1970 with more than 500 GP sorted by number of Major Penalties: NHL Stats

Here's the list of players with 1,000 GP with no majors:

Perron was in a quasi fight with Bobby Ryan in 2010 but didn't get a fighting major:

There are too many interesting names to even list

I sorted that list by PIM/GP for fun. Lowest is Butch Goring, who managed a mere 94 PIM in 1,048 games played with 852 points. That's impressive.

Another intriguing name that came up when I sorted the list by PIM/GP is Jaccob Slavin. 94 PIM in 745 games played (and 0 career majors). For someone known as a shutdown defenseman, that's impressive. I have a thing for shutdown defensemen, so my favorite Bolts player is Erik Cernak, but he certainly takes his fair share of penalties.

In today's NHL a lot of players will have played over 800 games and no fights which is sad. But back in the 80s until 2010 it would be really hard not to be involved at least one where there was a brawl and a non-fighter got involved a lil bit with the gloves off.
Also remember Kane almost getting into a fight against someone vs Florida but it got stopped by the linesman. And Pierre Turgeron deserved to get ripped, especially in that era where he had teammates getting double teamed and he sat on the bench.

Cool list - thanks for putting it together.

I'm actually surprised to see a few guys on it. I figured Lidstrom would have been in at least a couple of scraps during all those years of deep Wing playoff runs.

I thought John Carlson and Paul Stastny would have each been a few tilts too...neither really seemed to ever shy away from contact or board battles.

Yes Lidstrom is the guy with the most games without a fighting major. Funny thing is he did actually get into it a bit with Mark Tinordi, although it was just in a scrum and Tinordi shouldn't have gone after a guy like Lidstrom to begin with so that's probably why the refs let him off.

Martin Brodeur played over 1200 games and never had a fighting major. He did get into with Avery and someone else on the Rangers, but never got into an actual fight like his contemporary Patrick Roy

Don't think Jake Guentzel's ever had a fight. Has Erik Karlsson ever fought?
I think he fought Brandon Gallagher when Mike Hoffman tried to do something to Karlsson but left running, so Gallagher was left with this.

Not sure if it ended up in a fighting major.

Going a bit off, but Turgeon is absolutely the most disrespected hockey player in history and I have no idea why.
Because he sat on the bench and left his team shorthanded in a brawl. Someone got a good 2 on 1 beating because of that and it followed him the rest of his career. Fans don’t like cowards who don’t care about their teammates

I just don't see why a hockey player has to fight.

Would have been better if someone would have clubbed the coward Brown in the face with a stick.
