What makes you think that we shopped JJ?
Exactly if you read the blurb it says people are calling us on him and we are rebuffing them / but in typical hockey media fashion he’s making it seem like he’s on the trade block. Also, he made a super dumb comment about how a trade could happen because somebody might offer sheet him in the summer? I mean come on… There’s no point we have $40 million in cap space and unless someone is dumb and offers 4 first comp compensation why are we not matching? Any anyone offering peterka that much is really on drugs…

Twitter doesnt work on my computer, but Jeremy White said "he heard he could a "not our guy" guy.

Well I wouldn't listen to him if I were you. But the article that was posted made it sound like teams are looking to take advantage of Adams and the teams struggles... not that we are shopping him.

Why? Jeremy is connected with Sabres.

Another reason why Adams needs to go and we need to bring in hockey guys. Other GMs don't even take Adams seriously.

No one feels like Power’s issue is more on coaching? More specifically the lack of accountability. I know he’s soft but you can be soft and be disciplined enough to tie up your guy in the front of the net

He's the same guy he was in Chicago and with Michigan. It's not like he's getting caught up the ice and missing from his position in his own zone. It's that he's chronically late to his man. You can see the lack of urgency to move his feet to get where he needs to go - he watches and reaches which when you are bigger than most of your opponents at lower levels can work a bit but at this level? No. Then there is the lack of most basic engagement. He doesn't push people away from the shot lane or out of position and is tying up sticks to prevent chances. He's got a good stick in passing lanes and will get into shot lanes himself, which can be built upon. Then like the other night, he does poorly with rotation with his partner - he'll chase a puck behind the net and come out from behind the net by following (the long way) instead of stepping out from behind the net to cover the net front and rotating who is the active guy. He loses the front of the net and is then sluggish in recovering to his position.

None of this is about hitting, fighting, or even mussing up his prettyboy looks. It's about just basic defense that can be seen missing night after night. He's over 200 games into his NHL career and he's doing things he was doing 5 years ago in junior still.

So Seravalli throws some shit at the wall and now it's "Peterka is being shopped" when it's that other teams are calling? Heh.

I've thought he's kinda shaping up to being JJ Fiala but that's another "oh hey, this good player might be interesting if we talk about him on another team" sort of thing.

That’s why I came here to get the only takes that matter. I appreciate the candor.

I think Schneider’s numbers have a lot of room for improvement - I looked at the advanced stats for every D man who has played over 30 games this season earlier today (there’s 198, I was with my wife in the hospital the past 48 hours lol) and every Ranger aside from Fox has brutal defensive numbers, and Fox’s are barely positive himself. By comparison, Dahlin and Byram’s are both better than Fox this year and Power, Clifton and Samuelsson would be in the Rangers top 5. I think at 23 until next training camp, Schneider still has a lot to offer and fits you guys’ age range well, but still accept your answer. What if it was just Byram/Schneider? What’s the add from NYR?
I don't think this is workable. They have vastly different values IMO, and we can't afford to move something that is working really well (Byram with Dahlin) for a big gamble.

I can’t threaten with not watching because I’m already not watching, but trading JJ would be f***ing insane. If I were Terry I’d handcuff Kevyn to the boiler in the basement, and leave the phone off the hook until his contract expires. No gotdammed way.

I like JJ but he's probably got much higher value than the other 2. The return would have to be very big though

please please no.

Im out here on the west coast and my son is liking the Ducks (and skating in the little Ducks program). Could be going from Sabres season ticket holder in the 2000's, to just adopting the Ducks as my 1A team at some point.

Cozens, Power, etc I could se moving in a big trade/hockey trade. but JJ?

Color me nervous.

Tuch would either be used in a one-for-one hockey trade for a C or defensive top-4 D, or he will be *part* of a package for an elite player. He won't be the biggest name in a quality for quantity deal.

This also applies to Cozens, Quinn, Byram, Power, etc.

I can't imagine who's going to hockey trade a center you'd want for Tuch. A 2nd pairing RHD yes that could happen.

JJ could conceivably land a center (or RHD) you want, Cozens and Quinn probably can't. If he brings a good center I'd be sad to see him go but be fine with the deal.

it's been a few years since super secret Sabres source right ? (likely was Botts ?)

I do not see anything on his twitter account saying anything, other than retweeting Seravelli's tweet ?

Missed the post initially, but the Spacek+Ohgren idea is something different and seems workable.

Here is what I'm expecting after listening to him on wgr today:

-Holding onto Byram until the summer to see if they can extend him
-Signing one of Zucker/Greenway
-One hockey trade

synopsis:
Kevin Adams on wgr monthly appearance today (audio to follow when available)
- Got out skated out competed in Carolina
- What we have done in the standings has not changed philosophically with the way we are looking at the deadline
- We are wide open, looking and talking about everything, what he wants to do is make the team better now. Not interested in futures, a hockey trade.
- Regarding Byram, really has liked his season, excellent for us, valued him before the trade and has exceeded expectations, excellent with Dahlin. Will talk to the agent AFTER the season and would like to talk to his agent, and move forward with him.
- Talked about Levi's playing time in Rochester. alot of belief, thinks he will be a excellent NHL goalie
- Very busy time of the year
- re: Zucker & Greenway become very important players in the locker room. Would like to have both of them here, will keep working at keeping them.

He sounded quite calm and composed imo.
