NHL trade deadline thread (2025)

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
Pham reported Kevin Adams is traveling with the team to Florida, this will be the first time in 5 years he has decided to do this at the deadline.

It really is shocking that Adams hasn't been more aggressive to try to help this team. Players who have value are available, and yet we continue to see Adams sit on his hands.

It's a problem.

When the real GM stands before the players during a historic losing streak and announces “there is no help coming,” believe him.

This team has totally collapsed.
I don’t know how they fix it

at this point, nothing would surprise me at the trade deadline.

There is too many good players for them to play this bad

coaching staff insufficient
New gm needed

Defensive structure is horrible
players look like they are chasing with no structure
Power play inept. We score rarely

Message seems to be play harder.

Okay Kevyn, your remedial GM duties involve: resign Greenway. That’s it. That’s all you have to do to pass this trade deadline. Go get it buddy!

Mock trade #1: Blackhawks acquire JJ Peterka from Sabres for Kevin Korchinski, Toronto’s 2025 first-round pick

Frank Seravalli: It’s not nearly enough for the Sabres. You have a proven first-line winger who’s 23. If this were the deal, the Blackhawks would drive to Buffalo to pick up JJ Peterka. Korchinski is still very much unproven. It isn’t nearly enough.

Mock trade #2: Utah HC acquires Dylan Cozens, Vsevolod Komarov from Sabres for Lawson Crouse, Michael Kesselring

Frank Seravalli: That’s not enough for Cozens. You’re talking about a 60-point scorer who did that as a 21-year-old. I know the numbers haven’t been great since, but Crouse was recent a healthy scratch for Utah HC. I think the Kesselring piece is a very nice option, and he’ll be a second-pair defenseman who has shown incredible growth.

Given that Utah has talked about getting bigger, I wonder if moving Crouse is a non-starter even if he was a healthy scratch and has struggled this year.

I don't want to lose Komarov, but I like this deal in general. We can have two players like Greenway in the top 9 and Kesselring has looked pretty decent playing top 4 minutes for most of the season.

Chicago deal not of interest.

Korchinski is an absolute mess defensively. Even if he were a RHS, I'd have zero interest. And Toronto's 2025 1st is meh.
Yeah, we don't need another PMD unless he has to be paired with Dahlin, but even then I'd prefer someone else.
