Boston loses yet again, this time to Anaheim 6-2. They've earned just one point in their last seven games. Now tied for the seventh-worst record based on points percentage.

I’d say it’s more likely than not that the number of the pick we got from Boston starts with a 3 at this point. Not too shabby. They also have Carolina’s third instead of their own which should be a better pick.

Stunning. The guys moved out were short term rentals that did nothing for their new teams long term, and the guys in are foundational pieces moving forward.

Wasn't impressed with the Sandin move at first but I'm blown away by how much he's improved this year. And if Hutson progresses as hoped I wouldn't be surprised to see Sandin parlayed into a 3C in the coming seasons. Tidy piece of business for sure.

Also after doing some reading about it you have to think that his quote last night about "not interested to learn how to coach this type of season" probably accelerated the timeline. Crazy thing to say

I still really don't understand choosing the Flyers of all organizations to force your way too. Did he and Briere just really connect? Did they pay off his agent??

I read somewhere that he did this because the Flyers were his late father's favorite NHL team. If I remember correctly, his father passed away just a few months before the 2023 draft.

Not to absolve the Rangers but even though I think Perrault is a great prospect and better than most non-NYR people give him credit for I also think it's pretty clear that Leonard is much more NHL-ready.

The more damning part is them not wanting to burn a year of his ELC ...

Different prospects.

Gabe Perreault wouldn’t make the Caps this season. Propably wouldn’t be that close either. His situation is more similar to Andrew Cristall. Won't make the team for this season and you wouldn’t love the idea of throwing him straight to Playoffs. Great camp and he might even make it for the start of next season, but likely that they start at the AHL and then get their chance at some point during the season.

Leonard would walk straight to Rangers top-line.

Agreed, I think Perreault is a fantastic prospect. Good chance he will outproduce Leonard in the NHL imo.

But Leonard does more beyond the points than Perreault... we'll see who ends up being more valuable.

I've only been mildly impressed by Snuggerud most of the season; he was not good last night, IMO. It will be interesting to see how many games he gets for the Blues.
