I’m surprised it’s happening in late March.
I hope they get a coaching boost and ruin their tank.

I’d say it’s more likely than not that the number of the pick we got from Boston starts with a 3 at this point. Not too shabby. They also have Carolina’s third instead of their own which should be a better pick.Boston loses yet again, this time to Anaheim 6-2. They've earned just one point in their last seven games. Now tied for the seventh-worst record based on points percentage.
What’s the Boston pick from again? Orlov/Hathaway trade? Or picked up from a 3rd team?I’d say it’s more likely than not that the number of the pick we got from Boston starts with a 3 at this point. Not too shabby. They also have Carolina’s third instead of their own which should be a better pick.
It's the Orlov/Hathaway trade. It's fun to see that season continue to bite the Bruins in the ass years later. What’s the Boston pick from again? Orlov/Hathaway trade? Or picked up from a 3rd team?
Orly/Hathaway trade. The return was a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick and Craig Smith.What’s the Boston pick from again? Orlov/Hathaway trade? Or picked up from a 3rd team?
And having the Boston pick allowed them to use their lesser second on Beau.Orly/Hathaway trade. The return was a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick and Craig Smith.
Will be interesting to see how the 2025 Boston pick plays out because right now those trade deadline deals look like:
Out: 25ish games of Orlov and Hathaway for Boston and Joel Edmundson for Toronto
In: Rasmus Sandin (acquired via Bostons ‘23 first rounder), Logan Thompson (acquired via Washington’s 3rd round pick and NYI via Toronto’s 3rd round pick — acquired in the Edmundson trade), Ilya Protas (pick 75 used on Protas which was acquired from New Jersey for Bostons 3rd rounder in 2024 + Washington 2024 5th rounder), and the Boston 2025 2nd rounder
Pretty much a masterclass in asset management.
Great point! And having the Boston pick allowed them to use their lesser second on Beau.
Stunning. The guys moved out were short term rentals that did nothing for their new teams long term, and the guys in are foundational pieces moving forward.Orly/Hathaway trade. The return was a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick and Craig Smith.

Wasn't impressed with the Sandin move at first but I'm blown away by how much he's improved this year. And if Hutson progresses as hoped I wouldn't be surprised to see Sandin parlayed into a 3C in the coming seasons. Tidy piece of business for sure.Orly/Hathaway trade. I still really don't understand choosing the Flyers of all organizations to force your way too. Did he and Briere just really connect? Did they pay off his agent??Will be interesting to see who gets the job for next season. Michkov's "Flyers or bust" routine at the draft could get ugly pretty quick. Or he could thrive. Huge decision for Briere here.
Welcome to Buffalo, Torts. That has to be Torts' last stop, no? Hard to imagine anyone hiring him as a HC again, and he's 66.
Too bad, I enjoy his antics.
I read somewhere that he did this because the Flyers were his late father's favorite NHL team. If I remember correctly, his father passed away just a few months before the 2023 draft.I still really don't understand choosing the Flyers of all organizations to force your way too. That definitely makes senseI read somewhere that he did this because the Flyers were his late father's favorite NHL team. If I remember correctly, his father passed away just a few months before the 2023 draft.
He probably said that on purpose so he WOULD get fired.Shocking a coach that says he's not interested in coaching this point gets fired....![]()
Not to absolve the Rangers but even though I think Perrault is a great prospect and better than most non-NYR people give him credit for I also think it's pretty clear that Leonard is much more NHL-ready.@hockey_Robinson
”Gabe Perreault (NYR) is certainly a player to keep an eye on this spring.
I'm told the Rangers would prefer him to leave school at the culmination of this season and join Hartford of the AHL, with his entry-level contract commencing in 2025-26.
But first, hopefully a deep Frozen Four run.”
So the 21st placed team in the League can’t make room for top prospect but the top ranked team in the league will![]()

Agreed, I think Perreault is a fantastic prospect. Good chance he will outproduce Leonard in the NHL imo.Not to absolve the Rangers but even though I think Perrault is a great prospect and better than most non-NYR people give him credit for I also think it's pretty clear that Leonard is much more NHL-ready.
The more damning part is them not wanting to burn a year of his ELC ...
