NHL Talk - (News n' Scores n' Stuff) | 2024-25 Summer Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
This Rantanen stuff is fun. I only wish Carolina hadn't gotten two first round picks and then it would be truly delightful.

They gave up Necas, Drury a 2nd and a 4th to get Rantanen from Colorado.

Traded him to Dallas for two 1sts and 2 3rd round picks.

Brindamour mouths off that he never intended to sign with the Canes but his agent comes back and says not true, it was more about playing style.

So in other words he didn't like playing Brindamour's style of hockey.

As long as this makes the Canes worse and an easier out in the playoffs I say "well done!"

Don't forget Stankoven. While obviously not currently on the level of Rantanen or Necas, he is not an insignificant piece.

I do think this has weakened Carolina a bit, but they'll still be a tough out.

Yeah I did forget Stankoven - I think he will do okay with the Canes, maybe get a look in the top 6 and some PP unit time? He's put up some decent numbers in the CHL and played okay early in season for Dallas

Has anybody seen the Flames and the Canucks in the same building at the same time? (standings oddity)

Calgary and Vancouver are pretty much mirrors.jpg
