He got a match penalty which I think carries an automatic suspension unless rescinded. And this is shortly following McDavid concussing a MoJo with an elbow. I love watching the guy play, but if he thinks he’s untouchable (by the NHL or his opponents) for the dirty shot he’s pulling, he’s mistaken

Entitled prick of a robot. Great player, but looking like a cheap pissy whiner the past season or two who doesn't have fun playing the game. Add the lack of any charisma, it makes me more grateful for players like Ovi.

Ovie could also hit back without being dirty. He puts people down with good clean shoulder to shoulder hits.

Just saw NJ lost in regulation. Up nine with three games in hand. Don't take the foot off of the gas but it's a better place to be than trying to get to WC2 in the last game of the season!

Who's finger was it that he literally chopped off with a slash and didn't even get a fine for?

Have to think the the heavier than anticipated suspension is because of what he did to do mojo. I’ll take it.

Weren’t the caps one of JT Miller’s suitors a few years ago? I wonder what their offer was
I think Miller has definitely made sense at certain points in the recent past. In a strange way, I almost think he would have been more interesting this year if the summer moves had just been doubles or triples -- with the team in the WC mix or maybe like Tampa slightly above it -- instead of the complete home runs they have been.

As for what past offers were I'm sure it depended on the time, but my guess is there was probably a Kuzy centered offer as well as a futures centered offer (McMichael or Lappy + Mantha)

At some points yes. He does not make sense now. He is 31 now and under contract at $8M per through 2030. Let someone else overpay for him.

Boeser would be a much better option at 27 and UFA at season end, but at 6.6M Mangiapane would need to be part of the package along with some good prospects or draft picks. And i don’t think we would do that unless we knew we could resign him. But then what… that puts the squeeze on Leonard and other youth. Probably would mean not resigning Raddysh and playing Leonard on 4th line. Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze but it would be an all in move.

I definitely advocated trading for Miller at one point. Can’t remember when that was or what was the offer (I think CMM was a part, or even just Kuzy+). Must have been around the time of his extension with VAN.

I felt vindicated with the way he played last year (103 pts). I know the games are on late for people on the east coast, but Miller was incredible in their series against the Oilers last year. He scored clutch goals and shut down McDavid for big stretches.

I don’t know what his deal is and why he becomes a headcase (in his defense, EP is kinda soft and aloof). But, when he’s on, he is a two-way beast and the kinda guy you go to war w/ in the playoffs.
