I really didn't like Laviolette so I'm loving this, took a spin on their GDT and it's like going back in time. Handful of folks seeing it for exactly what it is and asking for the hook, handful saying "guys it's not his fault, the team isn't playing", and another handful asking why he refuses to reward players who earn it and keeps spoon feeding playing time to players with good contracts instead of good results. Oh, and occasional mentions of a cup win that is now just short of two decades ago.

Sounds like he didn't learn a damn thing and either lucked into a production bump last year or just benefited from not being the other guy, which seems to be what he's best at.

1994 was 30 years ago not 20. I know. It feels like closer 10.

Its funny how previous time gets warped. I still think that Radiohead album In Rainbows just came out a few years ago and then I realized it was 2007.

James Nolan butt hurt:

On Tuesday, the Rangers released a statement -- which sources told ESPN was commissioned by owner James Dolan himself -- that cited Wilson for a "horrifying act of violence" and criticized the player safety department for failing to suspend him indefinitely. The statement went on to say that it was a "dereliction of duty" by Parros and that he is "unfit to continue in his current role" as senior vice president of player safety.
The Rangers had an eventful week. GM Jeff Gorton and team president John Davidson were fired Wednesday, and associate GM Chris Drury took over in both capacities. Rangers senior adviser Glen Sather said the dismissals were not related to the statement that criticized the NHL.

On Wednesday night, the Rangers faced Wilson and the Capitals for the first time since Panarin was injured. The result: six fights in the first 4:14 of the game and 141 penalty minutes between the teams in Washington's 4-2 win. Buchnevich also earned a one-game suspension for high-sticking Anthony Mantha of the Capitals.

Well OK Computer came out in 97, when my oldest was born, and he’s almost 28 - and Karma Police hits just as hard today (er, maybe harder) and he’s still my little guy - but yeah time still warps.

Oilers seem to have officially made their annual jump to hyperspace beating the 2 best teams in the West (Wild and VGK) by 7-1 and 6-3 margins.

Watching Rangers Blues because I can’t lol away from crashes. Still 0-0, but the Rangers play like “Ok, we’ll give you the neutral zone, the middle of the ice, and the front of the net. But that’s it.”

It's not Lavis' fault guys! The team just has to play better! Guys really need to earn their minutes, this isn't a developmental league!

As an aside, Rangers have always been pretty over-rated in my eyes, outside of Fox, I've always felt like the franchise has been elevated because they've lucked into 2 generational talents in net. They've just been a consistently average team with legendary netminding.
