Leafs look like hot garbage.
A few weeks back I thought Matthews was going to threaten Ovie's 65 goal season but he has really slowed down. Makes it even more impressive just how hard it is to maintain that pace over the whole season.Yes, but they have the greatest goalscorer in the world on their team, or so they say… Come on Auston!!
The majority of studies performed have found links between CTE and severe depression or suicidal behaviors (particularly when controlling for other factors). You think this is related to fighting?
Well can't always rely on other teams, especially the Leafs. Caps need to teach the Leafs a lesson when they come to Capital One 2morrow night! What a sucky day for hockey. Simon gone and Detroit and Philly get 2 points.
Zero help. Thanks for nothing.

Sammy did start, but Woll must have had a setback or something because Martin Jones was backing up Sammy. So 2morrow I think we may be facing Jones and not Woll.
Caps have 2 games in hand on the Wings/Flyers.It's just going down to our guys getting it done and not taking any nights off or getting discouraged.
Oh I know. I rather the boys take care of business and not rely on others.

After tonight he'll need 10 goals in 15 games to reach 65. Sure hope he fails!
Not me. The longer it takes for somebody to get more than 65 goals, the more impressive that 65 goal season continues to look! I'm happy for Ovie to hold his records as long as possible.I don’t hope he fails, I think it would be good for the sport for someone like Matthews to push the peak season of the greatest goal scorer ever.
However, I definitely think scoring 65 back then amounts to more than scoring 65 this year anyway.
For all the hype that Matthews was gonna reach 70 this season, he has fizzled in the 2nd half of the season. OV's 65 is so significant that not even McDavid could break the mark as he came up 1 short last season. At best Matthews will get no better than OV's 65. With Marner still injured, opponents can focus more on Matthews.I don’t hope he fails, I think it would be good for the sport for someone like Matthews to push the peak season of the greatest goal scorer ever.

This is one of those uncomfortable truths that might get you flamed. The majority of studies performed have found links between CTE and severe depression or suicidal behaviors (particularly when controlling for other factors).
Simon is not the first. We lost Rypien and Belak to suicide as well. And Boogard to an accidental overdose suffered in the wake of a concussion.

He is still at 67,5 goal pace in 81 games so not over yet, but he was at a 75 goal pace recently so slowing down. For all the hype that Matthews was gonna reach 70 this season, he has fizzled in the 2nd half of the season. Ovechkin was on a 135 points (per 82 games) pace prior to the Olympic break in 2010, then "only" ended the season with 109 points (in 72 games). It happens. He is still at 67,5 goal pace in 81 games so not over yet, but he was at a 75 goal pace recently so slowing down.
