NHL's 100% Hockey podcast episode 39 has their first guest as the NHL schedule maker. How things are doing today, especially with coming up with playoff scheduling.

One interesting point: teams requested to not schedule more than 3 dates in a row during playoff season. If not, commissioner can choose to open series in the lower seeded venue. (Also suggests that playoff season events are moveable.)

Teams required to have 68+ nights/RS available.

It should not be a major headache this playoff season

The Kings and Lakers are in, along with the Avalanche and Nuggets.

The Dallas Stars are in, but the Mavericks are on the bubble, and while the NY Knicks are in, it looks like the Rangers will just miss.

Probably is it. West nhl is Win, dal, Col, StL, Min, Edm, LV, and LA. Only Cal has an outside shot still. At most 3 cities with nba teams. With Dallas doing the play in so could be out quick.

East is Wash, Car, NJ, Tor, TB, Fla, Ott, Mon. Outside chance for NYR and Det though margin for error closing rapidly for them.

wizards and raptors are not in PO and really no chance. Knicks and pistons are in but nhl team not.

buildings book concerts months in advance. Their stages travel by truck so timing wise they go in a logical logistical direction.
