Lundqvist, Luongo and Price over Kipper. Ok lmao
I'm not Mad about it
Seems like the right call IMO

He only has 9 seasons even with the 99-00 and Pronger and Lindstrom are just ahead in the 10 seasons or less crowd.Neidermeyer. I'd imagine a number of other guys in that era are being missed in favour of early 2010s guys when the points started to flow more freely again
He'd be borderline but 3 cups, a norris, and a smythe being completely ignored in here is wild.
Makar has 5 times as a finalist for the Norris in the time frame Nieds has 3 and then 9th and 10th.He hasn't played long enough to be considered over guys like Niedermeyer or Doughty.
Cool, we were talking about Hughes thoughMakar has 5 times as a finalist for the Norris in the time frame Nieds has 3 and then 9th and 10th.
Makar made the list. The two aren’t far apart, one just plays on a dumpster team.
A Norris and 409 points in 433 career games played, 26 points in 30 playoff games. Only 25 years old.
Pronger has 1 cup on a team WITH Niedermeyer, and Niedermeyer won the Conn Smythe on that team.He only has 9 seasons even with the 99-00 and Pronger and Lindstrom are just ahead in the 10 seasons or less crowd.
Pronger also has a Hart Trophy though in which he is the only defenseman since Orr to win it so I think that alone might push him over the edgePronger has 1 cup on a team WITH Niedermeyer, and Niedermeyer won the Conn Smythe on that team.
Regardless I think it's highly debatable between those 2 in the 2000s.
Pronger outplayed Niedermeyer that run, but got himself suspended.Pronger has 1 cup on a team WITH Niedermeyer, and Niedermeyer won the Conn Smythe on that team.
Regardless I think it's highly debatable between those 2 in the 2000s.
To lump Pronger in with Lidstrom (who is in a tier by himself) feels weird.
Imo Stamkos should definitely not be in the same tier of greatness as Stamkos. I would say Stamkos would be at least one tier below. That 25 plsyers (imo) should be divided into five groups. I’d put McDavid into the top tier of five.McDavid is really in his own tier for 10 year consecutive prime in the regular season and playoffs here during the time frame being discussed.
I think that if you have Stamkos above him for the SC then it's one of the weakest arguments to do so.
Those are the 10 season guys and Birds is a distant 3rd Lidstrom is a lock probably for the half Century team in 25 yearsPronger has 1 cup on a team WITH Niedermeyer, and Niedermeyer won the Conn Smythe on that team.

I have no idea what you are trying to say could you clarify please.Imo Stamkos should definitely not be in the same tier of greatness as Stamkos. I would say Stamkos would be at least one tier below. Tiers for great players in this context should be by groups of five. McDavid would be in the top group of 5 (imo).I have no idea what you are trying to say could you clarify please.
I like your list but Thornton is way too high. IMO it’s questionable why he’s on the list?Crosby
Ovechkin
Thornton
Malkin
Kane
Kopitar
Stamkos
Iginla
McDavid
Draisaitl
MacKinnon
Kucherov
Matthews
Doughty
Karlsson
Lidstrom
Hedman
Chara
Keith
Pronger
Brodeur
Fleury
Lundqvist
Quick
Luongo
I don't think I've forgotten anyone, but that would probably be my list. Vasilevskiy, Makar, and Price are HMs.

And never won anything.,In the timeframe covered, Thornton is:
#3 in points
#1 in assists
#22 in goals
Even with his lack of a Cup ring (which also applies to 8 other players on the list) he’s still pretty easily a top 25 player during this period.
And an Art RossHe won the Hart trophy.
