NHL Quarter Century Team

Well, let’s be honest here, that’s in memory of JG
Still it's disrespectful to his memory IMO as he probably isn't even a tip NHLer this Century.

NHL.com is just so bad at this.

6 goalies?

No Malkin?

No Doughty?

No EK65?

Kucherov is a top 25 Player all-time

This list is crazy to not have him top 25 since 1999

He's 4th during that period

1. Mcdavid
2. Crosby
3. OV
4. Kucherov

He has a shot at #2 if he can keep having these insane seasons (another 3 years of being a top 3 hart/lindsay/Ross level contender) and maybe 1 more cup + smythe effort
Since Jan 1, 2000
Kuch is 24th in points.

No Kucherov, No Vasilevskiy. The bias really showing here. How Fleury who was being cited the main reason why Crosby is not winning Stanley Cups consistently ( and it took the Penguins replacing him to win the two cups ) is getting in this team and eventually the HHOF will be always mind boggling to me
Fleury the most overrated player of the 21st century

That doesn't mean anything Kucherov is 25th in games played.

The names ahead of him in pts includes the likes of getzlaf, spezza, Bergeron, h sedin, d sedin, backstrom etc. These are all guys who were never consistently top 3 players in the NHL

Kucherov is 4th in ppg in this time with Mcdavid, Lemieux and Crosby ahead of him.

Lemieux is ofcourse not better in 2000s than kucherov as he hardly played and didn't win anything (injuries + crappie team factor)

Mcdavid
Crosby
OV

Are the 3 names who accomplished more than him so far and have greater legacies.

Not including Hasek is certainly a choice.
Forgot about him too,

He has a 1st, 5th, 6th 7th, and 8th in vezina voting from 1999-2000 to 2007-2008 (02/03 dumb retirement choice, 04/05 lockout and 03/04 injuries only allowed for 14 games for him)

His best years were 90s (94 to 99) so he may miss out in 00s due to that.

If he had played the full season in 02/03 gotten a top 5 vezina finish, played the 04/05 and been top 10 in vezina and 03/04 stayed healthy and gotten another top 5 vezina finish his case would have been a lock

Games played hurts him too much

What's crazy is his shutouts in the 2000s alone would place him 56th all time in that category. Point is if they're gonna put Roy then Hasek absolutely needs to be there.

Roy shouldn't be here 100%

Roy is a 80s and 90s legend.

2000s to now best goalies are Brodeur, Lundqvuist, Price, Vasilevsky, and Rask when looking at games played, consistency, elite playoff runs etc

If this was just 2000s then drop Vasilevsky. Price, and Rask and add Hasek + Luongo & Kippersauf (or someone else I'm forgetting)

Rask doesn't get the credit he deserves. I keep forgetting he played for as long as he did. Price's entire reputation is based off a 5 year stretch, but for the most part he was an average goalie. Even the seasons he was putting up a .920 save percentage, it was such a dead puck era that he was still only placing, like, 8th or 9th (like 16-17).

He was never an average goalie. He put up decent numbers in horrific teams in bad years. Carey Price was a monster goalie and is well deserving of being in this list. On even a decent team he’d have won multiple cups. And as good as he was in regular seasons he was even better in the playoffs. He stole multiple playoff series and led once of the worst teams to a final.

Roy, Goudreau have no business on that list. I wouldn’t have Fleury there….

This generations goalies were not better than the Dmen, which is what this list showed

Yay teemu! Too bad it's a fan voted list and means nothing really. Just nice to see something ducks in a list ranking "top"

He’d have stiff competition for number four.

Luongo and Fleury are two examples of how being affable can get you all the way to a list like this and the HHOF. The anti-Barrasso (who eventually got in). Neither was as good as the media keeps pushing. Meanwhile Jonathan Quick was the most clutch goalie of his generation but he played in LA so no one noticed.

Malkin is there

The disrespect to Kucherov is beyond belief now, I’m getting used to it

Meh. Just 3 Art Ross trophies, 3 120 point seasons, a couple cups. Nothing burger.
He should try being Canadian. then he'd get a statue in the HHoF.

The NHL named MAF to it's 2010's decade team, despite Hank being better in every single facet.
