NHL Playoff Schedule Information Thread

Toronto/Ottawa on a Sunday is surprising.

No hockey night for da Leafs?
Totally expected. The NHL likes to give teams at least two days off before the playoff start. Both the Leafs and the Sens play on Thursday, so a Sunday start is logical. I expected w Sunday playoff start since the schedule came out last summer.

All playoff broadcasts I believe carry the Hockey Night in Canada branding regardless of the night. Also I'm not sure there is a significant difference in ratings between a Saturday night Leafs playoff broadcast and a Sunday night one.

Looks like just 2 games Saturday, both Central division series.

Blues @ Jets
3pm PT, 4pm MT, 5pm CT, 6pm ET, 7pm AT

Avalanche @ Stars
5:30pm PT, 6:30pm MT, 7:30pm CT, 8:30pm ET, 9:30pm AT
It will likely be similar to last year, 2 series starting on Saturday, 4 on Sunday, and 2 on Monday.

All the eastern series have teams that play on Thursday so to give them two days rest they can't start until Sunday. Additionally the wildfire-postponed game between Los Angeles and Calgary is being played on Thursday, so the Edmonton-LA series also can't start on Saturday, and T-Mobile is booked on Saturday, so that left only the Dallas-Colorado and Winnipeg-St. Louis series. And even then they had to move or postpone a concert in Winnipeg.

T-Mobile is possibly booked all the way through the weekend, there are events on Friday, Saturday and Monday, but I doubt WWE will at all be interested in tearing down a set, ring, lights. pyro... etc on Saturday when they are putting on their biggest event of the year. My gut says Tuesday at the earliest and maybe Wednesday before they can host a hockey game since they will need to re-flood and re-paint as well.

Straight from Cassidy's mouth the Knights are playing Sunday. I posted the tweet earlier in this thread.

And if you need more.

there is still a chance it starts in MIN because of those commitments

so knowing it starts that day, isn't enough information
Who gets Game 5 then if the series starts 1-1? There’s a lot of money involved from playoff games. I can’t see the Wild being fine with Vegas getting 3 home games in a row.

What's ABC scheduled time? And who do they pick up in the 1st round? Washington is the biggest market most popular team left? Is Montreal a good ratings team in the States?

Guaranteed that if Toronto and Montreal both play on Sunday they play offsetting weekdays the rest of the way so that they don't conflict for Rogers.

For me, there's nothing like finally surviving another cold and dark winter to start savoring the beautiful spring weather, but being stuck inside looking out the window while watching your team lay an egg and you wonder why you do this to yourself.

Can't stand any hockey games in the afternoon, will never feel right if it doesn't start at 7 or later. 1230 is gross

a playoff game at 12:30 is disgusting

I don’t have the numbers in front of me but the Caps are notorious for a brutal record for 12:30 games relative to their record in other time slots. Agreed that the vibe is usually just off. Not enough build up to it during the day.

Probably Sunday, Knights knew when they booked them, they need to keep dates open. There will be a tear down, happens all the time,
Definitely not Wednesday.
