NHL players who gained more fame after retirement?

I'd bet that you'll find a lot of coaches/etc. that had played semi-professionally+ that have nurtured that into a role that gathers more esteem.

In that vein, I'd wager that few would know who Bill Clement is if he didn't continue his relation with the sport as a hockey broadcaster. His post-hockey days did earn him a place in the HHOF after all.

Marc Denis, 349 games in the NHL where he never really fulfilled his 1st round potential, but as a color commentator alongside Pierre Houde at RDS, he's achieving wayyy more fame that way, probably the best I've had to listen to, at least at the french level.

Random fans never believe Bruce was a player. 141 games.

He's played the Charlestown Chiefs a few times :sarcasm:
