Cap going up? I'll keep my eyes out for Rantanen gloves at Trudeau airport this summer.
I feel it makes it less likely Rantanen joins the Habs. The Habs will need to manage the cap with Hutson and Demidov, rather than a past his peak Rantanen. (Not that I think Moose is in any way anything else than a terrific beast of a player)

The Canadian $ is tanking.

Habs should operate 15% under and get ready to pounce when the estimates are off and teams need to unload contracts.
They’re not off - VGK, Sea, Utah are massive revenue success stories. I mentioned a few months back the cap ceilings going to rocket up + I’m positive there’ll be 2-more expansion teams within 3-years (Houston + Atl) that’s some $50M -$60 per owner

Not sure about the most up to date numbers but not too long ago MTL and Toronto were top-5 in league revenues, and Edmonton was top-10, and Vancouver top-16. So Canadian teams are a big part of driving the salary cap as high as it's been getting, and reacting to a rising cap by raising even more revenue is just going to continue to drive the cap upwards.
