When picking our team author, we felt it was important that the individual reflect the values of the franchise. And so, who better to pick than someone who actually went out on ships and hunted whales, then lived in Polynesia, writing stories based there?

One of my most indelible memories was going to see my son (probably around 8 months), who was fussing in his crib. As I picked him up, I felt the mega-gurgle and arched my back just fast enough for him to let loose with a monstrous amount of vomit over my shoulder. Then I did the wrong thing and looked him in the face to see if he was okay. Volley 2 hit me square in the face. I was picking carrot pieces out of my ear for the next hour.

There really isn't a good option. The only custard places on the island are Kohr Brothers. It's weird, I know. Plenty of ice cream, though.

When I come home from Barnegat, my usual routine is to stop at Evergreen on 70. I need to take a day and compare them to Holiday and Castle Harbor.
