NHL Mega Mock DRAFT Reboot Discussion DRAFT Thread Its Late but Its Gr8 to Start Phase 28

New Japanese Breakfast album, people! Some jaw droppingly beaut-e-ful arrangements. Very stringy, even a hint of country in the back half. I had a hunch with the singles (barely singles) that it would be more dialed back than Jubilee. But I love a tight 30 minutes — it’s very breezy cover to cover.

I think “Honey Water” is my favorite, but it’s punchier than the rest of the album. Then “Here is Someone,” “Mega Circuit,” and “Picture Window.”

Also, a collaboration with Jeff Bridges is WILD stuff.

I just listened to "Picture Window," and it is definitely country-tinged, but vibes wise, it reminds me of Aimee Mann.

She needs to be getting an actual Grammy

It’s my pick I’m told. I crashed early last night and unfortunately just came back from putting my dog down so I am not fully caught up, and hopefully he is not taken: Carter George.

@mja

Bloody hell. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry.

Thanks, I think I mentioned not too long ago that the end was coming. We had some medication that worked for 9 months (longer than we thought), but she had been weak for a bit now, lethargic for longer (but wasn’t unhappy, she took all her treats, but changed her food to chicken and rice which she didn’t always like). The vet was surprised with the loss of muscle from the last time she was there (which was often), and last night she wasn’t wanting to climb the steps to go upstairs to bed, so it was past time a bit in my view, it was at the point where I was worried we couldn’t get her into the car, but luckily that was fine so it was probably the right timing. She turned 13 in December and had colitis for a few years (that we know of). Not that it’s not sad, but it helps that that most that could be done was done, and today was just the day.

I do remember.

I'm sorry brother. Hang in there ♥️ Allow yourself to be sad

Sorry to hear that man. Like you said, at least she's no longer in pain. RIP

Totally horrified by the Studio Ghibli OpenAI shit today. Most of my horror is…..it’s pretty accurate. Like scarily accurate. Still images are only still images — and it’s just a filter — but it has a more human touch than I’ve seen from most AI.

Not sure what futureheads have or haven't been picked because of the board meltdown, so please excuse me if this guy has already been selected, but NJFZ will go with Anton Silayev, who apparently is 6'7" but mobile enough to get a "unicorn" tag per my very limited Google search just now.

@Captain Dave Poulin - if Silayev was already taken, please switch my pick to whoever was the next highest 2024 draftee. Otherwise, get your pick on.
