Exclusive game featuring 2 teams in the largest media market in the country, and it gets less than 200k.

Is that the first exclusive early game to get a number that low?

Horrific

Not the worst either Sunday window has done on TNT.

Last season the inexplicably scheduled Kraken-Blues early game did 152k.

So Isles-Devils was actually up 13% YoY -- one of many reasons I don't like getting into % up/down even though it's standard sports media reporting. Tells a false story. A bad number is a bad number.

The Islanders and Devils are small or at best, small-medium market teams, even if they exist in the largest media market. Not a good number, of course, but also not one that should be looked as if they were 2 big market teams.

Factor in the fact that the Islanders were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday and the Devils are already locked into their playoff position. The game was meaningless for both teams, so even fewer fans were going to tune in than typical.

No exclusive game should be getting less than 200k viewers period, unless its up against the NFL. The game got less viewers than a Panthers-Utah game and a Sharks-Kraken game, and both of those started at 10:00pm, and two of those teams have been bottom 5 franchises for the last half decade.

A bad number is a bad number

I agree that a bad number is a bad number. What I was doing was explaining WHY the number is bad. This stuff isn't just subject to random factors.
