What movie will the players choose on their flight might as well be the next thread. It's sort of creepy that people are tracking their flights.

Wonder if any Canadian players are on the flight from Atlanta

Babcock said he wants everyone at the rink for practise coming right off the plane to wear off effects of jet lag ASAP.

That Atlanta one doesn't touchdown until 3 in the afternoon. While the other two get there in the morning

"They see me rollin, they hatin"

From the Wild board. Wild Olympians Parise, Niederreiter, Suter and Granlund and their ride to Sochi. Owner Craig Leipold's private jet?

The Wild really wants to attract free agents

Did they go and pick up Vanek before heading to Sochi ;)

Would think that plane would just be taking them to wherever their NHL charter jumbo jet is taking off?

I sure wouldn't want to be stuck in a plane that small on a 10+ hour flight over the ocean.

Yeah, I was wondering if that plane would even have enough range to get to Sochi.

I'm not sure what kind of plane the wild owner has, but most gulf stream jets have the fuel capacity to go 3/4 way around the world on a tank of fuel. NY to Sochi would be no problem for most any "business" jet.

The flight plan says the plane is a boeing 767-300. According to the Air Canada website, those types of planes have a range of 10,549 km (6,555 miles). How far is Sochi?

Meh. If you want creepy, then follow NCAA football/basketball recruiting/coaching searches in the U.S.

Just tracking flight aware to see whether NHL players have arrived in Sochi yet or when they are supposed to arrive and start practicing is pretty tame.

Last games in nhl this week are saturday night, this means sunday morning in sochi, you need time to take the plane from the game home, then from home to russia, somehow you have to pick the family, realistic seems to be monday

Why would you have to pick up the family? Why would you have to take plane from road to home?

I'd guess most players are leaving sat or sun.

It would appear that those sites tracking those flights doesn't have those specific flights on there any more.

I think this is the 3rd Newark charter:

I think this is the flight Kevin Shattenkirk talked about Thursday night before the Bruins-Blues game. He said he had to go to Newark and their flight was at 5:30 Sunday.

I think it's pretty cool that the players are all traveling together. With a lot of guys not bringing their families, they are going to basically be each other's families for the next 2 weeks.

I know the ducks Olympians left from Atlanta last night per Hazy our announcer after the Nashville game. He also said something about going to different locations from Atlanta as well. Whether it's to pick up families etc I don't know.

Flight 1 has now completed its ocean crossing and is hitting land over Northern France.

I hope there hasn't been much turbulence. I hate turbulence.

3 hours and 11 minutes until they're in Sochi.

So are all players going in the same plane? Or each nations players in one? westcoast players in their own? Some players in private jets? NHLers going with regular people or only NHL players? Family members go in a separate plane?

Lots of questions.......... ^_^
