McQueen: I read that his skating "can use work?" Not sure what "expert or experts" said that, but if true, no thanks.
Added to that the back issue(s) and I hard pass!
Of course if he's there in the 2nd round when we pick, fine.
The Bruins can not risk taking damaged or seriously questionable picks.
IMO Sweeney knows this, he's not going to take any chances, unless he doesn't like it here.
I would be fine with most of the other top Centers identified by many here, assuming Misa is long gone, I especially
like Desnoyers, Frondell, Hagens, O'Brien in no particular order. I kinda feel like Sweeney will pick whomever he thinks is closest to playing in 2025-26.
Lol mcqueen is 10000% going in the top 15. He will not be there in round 2 to get taken begrudgingly by you. Hes by far the most interesting player in this draft with the highest upside outside of the top 5. Hes a massive risk and i do not want boston to take him at 7. But only because their whole system sucks and i want someone 1-2 years away if they pan out, not 3-5. They finally got a chip for the first time in 10 years, id rather they not put it on green at the roulette table. Put it on red, or maybe a square if they wanna gamble a little.

And Mcqueen production was poor in junior , he is bigger than others juniors and can’t produce more ??? No way i want bruins take him

The whole lottery system is dumb. Whether its for a pick or ping pong balls, teams are going to tank.

It’s funny how the NFL, a league where 1 player makes a significantly larger impact has no problem using reverse standings.

Gary Bettman is obsessed with turning the NHL into the NBA - complete with shady lotteries and “game management” by referees. Perhaps he should take a harder look at the NFL, instead. The NFL is no less shady, but is almost bulletproof in the court of public opinion. The idea of a lottery in the NFL (or MLB) is laughable.

Two spots can absolutely make a difference, even one spot can make a difference
Absolutely. Hartnell would have been good. Maybe I wouldn’t hate him if we’d picked him.

That 2000 draft was putrid though. Really really weak.

Would also have been nice to snag Kronwell though. He’d have been a huge fan favorite in Boston. Detroit sure was glad when we skipped on him two picks before them with our 2nd 1st that year.

Pretty easy to do after the fact though. I’m super good at that kind of drafting.

Oh no my stomach churns .

It's ok those poor isies fan deserve some happiness that team has been in dumps for decades .
Agreed Don! Hard to be mad about the Isles catching a break. Although they did get DiPietro & Tavares 1st overall (both after Bostons last 1st round pick; Joe Thornton 1997). The Bruins were due a gift more than the Isles were

It would nice to see the isles back . I was a huge mike bossy fan and met him and have a autograph signed book from him.

Maybe trade down with them and get cuylle.
I wasn't thinking Cuylle because I think he goes nowhere. My friend likes him too. But a trade down for a couple of picks or possibly a player works in theory. I don't want Krieder and Ziba is aging, but they are out there. We have the cap room. Ziba just sold his townhouse...

If I'm trading down and getting ziba and that brutal contact I want another 1st round pick unprotected 2027 plus a 2nd and 3rd. I believe they traded their 2026 1st round pick.
