From eye test I wouldn't be surprised if he's really 6'1" (or 6'0.75"...).The only height I want double fact checked is Malcolm Spence at 6’0.75”. I’ve seen him listed at 6’2”-6’3”

Cootes is a Tinder 6'
Tinder scrutinizing height measurements more than NHL is crazyHave you heard? Tinder is making Height selection now easier for the ladies, they added a slider and also a height detecting piece of software that should be able to gauge males' true heights using profile pictures. Life just got that much harder for us sub 6' guys.
*sigh*
Yeah, except go read all 50 pages of the Lane Hutson thread or watch NFL combine week discuss hand size for 4 hours straight - sports fans are way more concerned about dudes' measurements than women are.Tinder scrutinizing height measurements more than NHL is crazy![]()
Looks like he skipped the measurements. It was reported that he would skip the physical testing.Any word on Desnoyers’ height and weight?
Strange, it would be reasonable given his injury to skip the physical test, but not the body measurements. Perhaps he is purposely trying to tank his stock and fall so he could be drafted by the Canadians.Looks like he skipped the measurements. It was reported that he would skip the physical testing.
That's mostly because analytics in the NHL were 50 years behind every other sport for quite a while. The public discourse is still in its absolute infancy to put it nicely, but you'd hope the private discourse has evolved. And what is the list of those players? NHL drafting is extremely difficult to do above any average standard outcomes. Which is self-evident because no front office shows uniquely gifted aptitude in drafting outcomes long term. Even the best make massive judgment errors every single draft.
It's also the nature of the league being far more chaotic than at least the other big three. But I do agree, hockey itself lags behind in some ways. Seems like a lot more data tracking will be available in the near future as tech. sophistication increases to remove the drudgery of counting and tracking stats. That's mostly because analytics in the NHL were 50 years behind every other sport for quite a while. I mean in the sense of height accuracy and verification within the NHL. You see many guys listed usually a few inches taller than they actually are.Yeah, except go read all 50 pages of the Lane Hutson thread or watch NFL combine week discuss hand size for 4 hours straight - sports fans are way more concerned about dudes' measurements than women are.![]()
I wonder if this slows down his progression - to start next season on the right foot.No point staying longer in Buffalo just for the measurements. Desnoyers already announced he's there just to talk to teams and is gonna skip the fitness part (which also includes the measurements). He also has to see doctors, physios and has to get imaging done for his wrist injury.

Or if he is going to require surgery (hopefully not)
I got to give it to Desnoyers. He emptied his tank this past season. Not many 17/18 year olds can tell the same story.
If he can raise his pace/skating explosiveness - to another notch. He will be a good one/high floor.
That’s what I was worried about.Looks like he skipped the measurements. It was reported that he would skip the physical testing.
This is true. The last info wasn't very promising to be honest. It's mid June and he needs to get more imaging done, doesn't even know the extent of the injury and how it's gonna get treated. It's gonna impact his next season for sure because either way he won't be able to do normal offseason training. Could be way worse than that though and we can only hope that at least he doesn't need surgery and the wrist is gonna be back at 100% come training camp.
Sure sounds like it. Either way I think it's a very bad sign that this happened in November and they still need to do more imaging, more testing, still don't know how to treat the injury. I hope they at least made sure that playing through it didn't make it any worse. This is true.
Apparently the injury started in November? In hindsight, it could have been a bad call to not take it more seriously/fix the issue earlier.
Do we seriously not have heights and weights yet??? These aren’t the dang Epstein files
Spence down from 6'2" 201 as advertised to 6' .75" 190.The Hockey Writers have a list of Combine heights and weights, both EP and Combine bio's. I put their table into alphabetical order from their last name as well as sharing the difference between the NHL combine bio from the EP bio. (In case you didn't want to use the ctrl+F function to find a player.) We get to see if there was growth or mismeasurement, since the NHL combine is the recent measuring of height and weight.

I mean probably not. Sam Bennett couldn't do a pull up and now everyone sees him as this beast.I wonder if Misa having somewhat AVG showing in the physical portion and not really having any elite skills. has a lot of AVG to Above Avg. not being in the top 25 in any drill when only 70 did them. could he fall from 2?
No, not unless he showed poor effort or something. Maybe if this was for a track and field draft it’d impact him but go back all the years and I don’t see a ton of correlation between who did well/poorly in the Combine and being a good/poor hockey player.I wonder if Misa having somewhat AVG showing in the physical portion and not really having any elite skills. has a lot of AVG to Above Avg. not being in the top 25 in any drill when only 70 did them. could he fall from 2?
I think Misa and Schaefer assume they are shoe ins to be picked in the top 2. So as long as they are not in the last pack - the test results for them won't make much of a difference.I wonder if Misa having somewhat AVG showing in the physical portion and not really having any elite skills. has a lot of AVG to Above Avg. not being in the top 25 in any drill when only 70 did them. could he fall from 2?
Yeah, it's a bit about their training dedication, but also just a marker in their path to development. Is Frondell fully matured and that's why he beasted the bike exercises, or is he doughy and young and STILL beasted the exercises meaning there's a huge runway? Is Misa fully mature and topped out as a mediocre pro athlete with average traits, or is he still maturing and right outside the top 25 in everything? The Sam Bennett example - is someone physically immature yet you can already see a power game developing, which is super promising once they mature? Or like Leonard - he was beasting kids but is he already near his peak?I mean probably not. Sam Bennett couldn't do a pull up and now everyone sees him as this beast.
Other than getting to interview the prospects and get an official height/weight, the other tests basically just make sure a kid isn't totally out of shape.
The purpose of a combine is to put your best foot forward.
But that doesn't preclude some missteps from the past from reappearing.
Such was the case in certain team interviews, where execs asked prospects to break down footage of themselves from the season. And the videos weren't exactly positive.
"Pittsburgh did that," Moose Jaw Warriors forward Lynden Lakovic said. "They didn't show my highlights; they probably showed my lowlights, but asked me to break that down. It was good. I thought I handled it well. They weren't my greatest clips, but I'm aware of that, and I thought I broke it down pretty well."
Carlos Handel was similarly caught off guard by seeing his poor plays return front and center during the meet and greets.
"Carolina did that," the Halifax Mooseheads defenseman said. "They showed me some bad clips, and wanted, for example, how I react [to it], but also they wanted to know how my coach, for example, wants me to attack there and what my opinion about that [play] was."
If nothing else, these interviews kept prospects on their toes throughout the week.
"Most of the [talks] were fun," Lakovic said. "But there were a couple ones that were a little bit more intimidating."
