Peter Reynolds is better than every single pick the Hawks made.
He played 33 games and only against a small number of teams (5ish) from Atlantic Canada. The Atlantic group of the Q did not play against any of the Quebec teams due to travel restrictions. They had what was called "The Atlantic Bubble" which made travel between those provinces (Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick) a lot tougher.
There is zero chance any scout who wasn't based in Atlantic Canada saw him play live.
It was a sample size issue. With skill players you need to see their play and to see whether they can sustain that over a season and how they handle tougher competition. If he's the real thing, he'll get drafted next year. I think several skill players will probably be in the same position.
