2024 better than 2025 in my book.

Better depth.

Better #1 player

Better top 10

It's about better in every important topics.

You do realise that, the only time they played directly against each other in the same competition, Celebrini outproduced him by x3? Given that they’re both 06s and relatively close in age, the comparison is even better. In the way that MacKinnon is considered the best franchise player behind McDavid being the generational player in the 2010s, I think Celebrini will wind up being second only to Bédard in terms of best player in the 2020s drafts. His first game in the NHL already showed that his vision and skating are elite at the NHL level; as for Hagens, I think you’re looking at a Hischier-type player that plays a very thorough and balanced game, but less dynamic than Celebrini
Hagens was a third liner at that competition, while Celebrini was given the keys to the car. As crooked a comparison as you can give.

I thought Vote-Hagens-Eiserman was the second line, but if misremembered excuse me. But yes, Celebrini was relied upon heavily; it still really doesn’t change my opinion that I think there’s a gap between them as players. That’s not to denigrate Hagens as I think whichever team he ends up going to is getting a no-risk high floor pro-style player right away, but I think Celebrini will wind up being the second best player of his generation

The Moore line was listed second and usually got on the ice second. Maybe Hagens line was the second best, but I think nominally it was third.

A simple algorithm for recent or upcoming drafts....

* If his/her home country has a lot of players in the first round, a poster will say it's a GREAT draft!
* If his/her home country does NOT have a lot of players in the first round, a poster will say the draft SUCKS.

Hoping for a great draft!

We had a decade of drafts that sucked.
