NHL Demonetizing YouTube Channels

YouTube has double the revenue of TikTok, and TikTok might get banned in the U.S.

Of course YouTube makes more money than TikTok, it's at that stage as a corporation where it's squeezing its oldhead followers for every penny it can. TikTok on the other hand is at the growth stage where they have to lay out a lot to keep expanding. I mean Facebook is hugely profitable but who the F still uses that?

Also if you have to rely on kneecapping your competition to slow them down you've already lost.

The NHL is such a trash League top to bottom. That said, alot of these Hockey Youtubers are so overrated and talk out of their ass.

Bettman had small man syndrome and doesn't want people to make a better product than him when it's super easy to do.

Just wait until they start having Twitter and whatnot taking down/banning users who post clips so we, the fans can see the highlights, especially of things the NHL AI algorithm for highlights never shows because it's trash.

Wonder where NHL would be if they flipped switch and actually started promoting and helping the content creators. Maybe more creators will come out to make more content to bring more interest with the incentive.

Or is the media companies pushing this.

tiktok is already old and is in the same process as the others

YouTube is very much a world where the rich get richer and the small man gets shit on. They, and the big corporations, have ultimate authority to just arbitrarily throw copyright claims at small channels as a way of killing them by attrition.

So just the regular world then?

Yeah except that's literally why it's happening.

Anyway, the NHL can get bent with this, very obviously fair use and should frankly be open to legal action.
Sometimes they don't even render in 720p. It's like 240p and even if you reload, it's still blurry.
Ive heard many say that this is ayoutube problem, it somehow takes time before the higher resolutions start showing, that what many comments have said, i dont have a legit source.

So if I understood you right, Israel is banning tiktok in US because people are seeing things on there and turning against them?

The NHL is a fkin dinosaur fossil old boys club who dont know how to promote this sport and its athletes for shit. Theres a reason why I watch pirated streams and barely forked over any money to this bush league for 10+ years now.

It says everything that they went out of their way to personally file these (frivoulous) copyright claims on smaller channels that shit all over their pathetic productions and socials with better content than they ever could. YouTube is also a terrible platform that lets blatant copyright abuse and false takedowns run rampant with no concequences.

Nintendo did the same thing years ago. They tried to come up with an "affiliated creator" program in response, but it was widely mocked and they abandoned the plan. To this day, it's a crapshoot if you want to reuse content from trailers of games that they develop and publish. One big video game creator has even said it's not worth it for them to even review Nintendo's games on their channel because of the risk of getting struck.

What I'm saying is, someone at the NHL might have an uncle working at Nintendo who told them to do this.

The hockey guy with the galaxy brain move of only writing stuff on a white board
He used to show some clips a few years ago, and then the NHL did this shit too and hit his channel with a strike he fought hard to remove, its been strictly whiteboard for a while now on his channel. Anyone who's ever had to deal with YouTube and getting a channel strike removed knows how egregious the whole process is.
