NHL: Around the League 53

Based on that trade, you think a 2nd round pick + Kurashev could have landed us Farabee?

Seems like a missed opportunity

Speaking of Flyers/Torts

He again benched Mickhov in game and there was a back and forth between Torts and kid

Michkov since that Jackets game when he got benched in game (Despite two assists) has been in and out of Torts doghouse and last night he finally appeared to show his frustration with Torts

Friedman just posted cap projections rising to about $110 million for 2027-28. That is fantastic for the Blackhawks. Hopefully they can poach good players from the teams that can't keep up

Just a reminder that Toews and Kane were going to be great deals a couple years into their mega deals because of rising cap projections.

I always remind people of the stupid reddit threads about the Canadian Tar Sands in 2014 and how the strong Canadian dollar was going to drag the salary cup upwards.

Right. Like I get that NHL GM's can't be expected to predict that OPEC is going to flood the oil market and crush the Canadian and Russian economy...

But until the cap is 110 million don't build a team like it is.

Has Jones picked up his play to try to induce a trade? If so it may be worth just being rid of him if he's going to start sucking again
I'm not sure, I don't think you can blame his sub par play on his health, because he played like shit most of last year, and most of this year leading up to his injury. Only thing I can think of is that he is playing for a trade, or his ego, either way, it's a good enough reason to trade him if he isn't giving it his all, all the time, and just when he chooses to.

Oh yeah. If hes legit doing that (and I believe he is, at least to some degree) that's not the kind of player we want on our team at any point.
