Wouldn't be quick to judge. They never got their Bedard or Celebrini and it's been about 6 or so years of that. The Ducks and Jackets will likely toil in mediocrity for a long while as well, as Carlsson and Fantilli are likely to be less impactful than Bedard.

Fans give Yzerman a hard time about his UFA signings but we just did something similar this past offseason and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. You can't have your young players be playing on a team of garbage and expect them to do well.

He'll have to figure something out though because there's no elite talent heading his way via the draft and he's relying on Kane and Tarasenko in top 6 roles. I think they should lean into Seider and Edvinsson, build from the back out, and go from there.

Avs are in big big trouble. Defense is falling apart, goalies are cooked, can’t get out of Nuke’s contract and no cap to fix anything.

Maybe they have interest in Soderblom for a high pick lol.

Avs in desperate need of a goalie as Georgiev is sinking them. It's hard to build a consistent Cup winner. Really puts into perspective how lucky we were with the Dynasty Hawks.

MacKinnon and Makar are among the best in the world at their position and it's still not enough. Gotta have the depth and the luck.

One time yes. But a consistent Cup winner, much harder to do when you have zero reliable goaltending. And a core player with an uncontrollable drug addiction…and another core player out for an entire season + on LTIR with a serious injury.
