Meh.

You could pretty easily look at the first 4 games and come away thinking the series ought to be 2-2 instead of 3-1.

Edmonton basically needs to make mistake-free hockey from here on out thanks to the hole they're in, and that's tough to maintain, but it's not like Florida had been running Edmonton's show through 3 games.

Bob's was absolutely in the Oilers head.

But just watching the first game they had him open a few times and missed. Then they thought they had him open and he made monster saves on those guys. As this went on eventually it looked impossible to score as he played dialed in.

It looks more balanced now but Florida has already earned their 3 either way so the hyperbole is silly. It's still massive advantage to the Panthers at this point.

In the regular season the Oilers had some games where they were being shut down. McDavid focused on the boards instead of rushing to the middle every damn play. The rest of the team complied. That happened a lot, McD just playing the walls waiting for the best moment to dish a killer assist. It's the reason I thought they would be more fit to go deep this year.

Yet, in the first few games in this series the Oilers mostly played off the rush, dangling all over the place after entering the zone then getting owned in every game. Old habits die hard and now they have a mountain to climb.

Edmonton trying their hardest to turn the puck over in their zone. What was Ryan thinking not getting that deep too?
